“Lovely stay”
Reviewed 31 May 2013

We had a great (too short) time here, at the moment we arrived there was nobody, so we sent an e-mail and get one very fast back with a lot of excuses in it. We can go directly to the Casa and had a good discount. The room was big and clean, perfect place for laundry and de rooftop is incredible. Unfortunetly there was no space for more night, so we moved....

We stayed here over Easter for around 10 days when we were in Sucre and loved it. We had deluxe room first and then moved to a double as we decided to stay longer and the room we were in was previously booked. The deluxe room had amazing views, it was so nice staying in it. It is a family run B&B and they are so warm and welcoming and full of information. The guest kitchen was really clean and and the views from the balcony off it were really great. We have been travelling for over 9 months now and it was one of the nicest B&B's we stayed in.

We stayed here 15 days and loved every single day. The view from the kitchen is unforgettable. The place is always clean and the kitchen is nice to use. If you don't feel like making breakfast one day, Tania will make you a delicious, hearty breakfast.
We really recommend it! Also Sica the dog is really cute!

Casa al Tronco is maybe the best place for our trip so far. Ebo and Tanja are so nice and helpfull that you fill you were by friends. They recommend you excursions, restaurants and places to go after having visiting Sucre.
The house is perfectly decorated with plants, masks, statues and the dog Siga Siga is always happy to see you coming back. The suite room is amazing : you have a view on whole town!
La Recoleta is also a nice section of the town : calm and quiet and 10 minutes walking to the main square. You définitly have to go there but book in advance.

Room Tip: Ask for the suite : best view in town, big room and privante bathroom

We live in Bolivia and keep coming back to Casa Al Tronco. Clean like no ther hotel in Bolivia. Decorated tastefully with over 100 pieces of original artwork, small, cozy friendly, fantastic atmosphere and wonderfull owners. What a view! Try climbing on the kitchen roof through the ladder outside the door. Hang on, it will take your breath away!
No better place in Bolivia!

Room Tip: Book well ahead. Very few rooms..

I arrived at Casa al Tronco planning to stay for 2 days and I ended up staying for 6, I loved it so much. My room was try clean and cosy, the shared spaces (kitchen, balcony, outdoor terrace and living room) are exceptionally well decorated and furnished, and the owners Ebo and Tania were lovely and more than willing to help with any questions. Also I loved the range of breakfasts available for a small cost.
This really is a haven to chill out in and explore Sucre - the best accommodation I've stayed in so far in South America, and excellent value. (Also really good value Spanish lessons available on-site from a local teacher).

What a great budget accomodation. We stayed in a private room with ensuite bathroom. We had an amazing view of the beautiful Sucre and the room was extremely clean and very spacious. The shared kitchen had everything you needed and had a lovely balcony area to watch the sunset. You must stay here if visiting Sucre.
