“Home away from home”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 December 2013 via mobile

My husband and I stayed here through Christmas and had a really lovely time. We originally booked for three nights bought seeing the house we immediately decided to book for the full week to spend Christmas here. It is more like a large home than a hostel or hotel. Beatrice the owner, Mariana were both extremely helpful and welcoming. We had a huge kitchen to use, which we gladly enjoyed with several other travellers for a huge Christmas dinner. There is a laundry area and outside yard and garden. It is a few blocks away from the plaza, but still very close. There is a delicious place to eat across the road called SuperPlanchita.
We highly recommend this place and would stay here again. They are opening a new annex in the same complex in January as well. Thanks!!!

This is a great little hostel with all the creature comforts of home. It was lovely to have a comfy, warm bed with a TV, so we could just chill for once. Beatrice is so helpful and helped us book our bus and tour for Salar - which was also great. A great stay just 5 minutes walk from the centre of town.

We moved to Forastero after our hostel had no more availability, for what was supposed to be one night. But we found the place so pleasant on arrival we decided to hang around in Sucre and take Spanish lessons. The rooms were really nice and clean, breakfast although early was great and quite varied. It was great to have a garden to sit and relax in. The owner was also helpful in sorting bus tickets (for a small commission). Overall a nice quiet, leisurely place to spend some time in Sucre.

We really enjoyed our time here. The place offers great value, the rooms are nice, internet great, close to the city centre, wonderfully quiet, great kitchen, very, very safe. Oh and really accommodating staff. We found Beatriz a really excellent help, I left my glasses in La Paz for no additional cost she picked them up from the bus station for me. Furthermore when they didn't arrived at the terminal on the day as promised, she returned and picked them up for me and actually sent them down to Uyini for me. No extra cost. Very kind and accommodating, and saved me a lot of hassle getting new glasses.

This place offers great value to stay in for a tour. We were offered the tour option by Beatriz for Olivios Tours but decided on our own option. The service remained the same for us and she was really very helpful. We fealt comfortable and relaxed at all times. Recommend this place for a break from typical hostels and for a quitter time.

The guesthouse itself is lovely and we got picked up from the airport (for 30B). The house itself is clean and tidy and has good wash facilities and internet. Breakfast is ok and served between 8-9. Walk to the centre is around 5 mins so good location.
The owner at first seems lovely, good English and a typical friendly grandma type, however on the last day she turned sour. She tried to book us on to a salar de uyuni trip with Olivos tours (a bad company from reviews) for 200B more than what it is in the office we found out, herself claiming it to be one of the best, however when we said we'd look around she bumped up a load of commission on another booking we wanted for a bus ticket by 50B- then we found out the price of the actual bus ticket was 60B! Claiming two taxi rides and two phone calls to book them it required. Also when coming to pay she claimed she had 'no change'. About 20B she tried to call me

Set back from the street behind a series of very secure gates, this is essentially a family home convertedinto a guest house, and as a result, it is incredibly homely and comfortable. Beatriz the hostess, speaks English, and was very helpful during our stay - orienting us in Sucre and also helping us to arrange our onward travel to La Paz. The breakfast is good and there is good WiFi. Water often warm rather than hot, but a small annoyance in a great B&B.

An easy walk from here into the centreof Sucre, 5mins.

We loved Forastero from the moment we arrived. It is a house located far back from the road with lovely driveways down to the house and two security gates so it is very safe, quiet and peaceful. We truly felt relaxed.

Beatriz, the owner is welcoming and immediately showed us around the house and made us feel at home. She also gave us the matrimonial suite when we had booked a double which was amazing and very good value. The room had a large bed, sofa, tv with cable, dressing area and huge bathroom. The room was immaculately clean.

There is a very clean and well equipped kitchen you can use, a lovely garden to relax in and a computer with fast Internet to use though we so got full signal wifi in our room too.

Beatriz also kindly booked us on a your of the dinosaur footprints which was good fun.

The breakfast she provides is really nice and a lot of it.

I would definitely recommend staying here especially if you are a couple or you want to feel at home abroad.
