“Very good hostel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 May 2014

Pros
- Located in the city center (10 minutes by foot from the main plazza)
- Lovely inner garden
- Good wifi for Bolivia
- Room was clean and confortable (hot shower, good bed...)
- Staff speak a little bit english
- Very safe place
- Quiet and clean common area
- Good breakfast

Cons
- The breakfast is from 8:15 to 10:00. Once i arrive at 9:45 and there was no more bread... Twice we asked to have our breakfast a little bit earlier (8:00) and it was not possible to have fresh juice neither fruit salad. They should be a little bit more flexible...
- We booked online and we got an other room that the one we booked. We asked to change and we had a better one the next day. Except in peak season, do not book online and go there directly, it will be cheaper and you will probably have a better room.

We stayed in Takubamba for 6 nights with our group changing size every 2 days but the staff at Takubamba was really patient and helpful and made sure our stay was comfortable. It is a very pretty hostel with nice spacious rooms (with kitchenettes!!). The breakfast could be a lot better (it is very plain and the menu does not change). But Bolivia is so cheap, you can get a great breakfast and pay nothing at cafes/restaurants. The bathrooms are huge with AMAZING hot water and water pressure but there isn't a curtain separating it form the rest of the bathroom so things get wet easily.
Overall, it was a great stay. I recommend it!

Wow, first 100% i have given to a hostel. A delight - if only all hostels were this fantastic. Lovely staff, dorms huge, nice bathrooms, bedding, lovely setting, garden, kitchen, small serve of eggs and fruit salad with plenty of bread and spreads for breakfast. Laundry done for a good price, great location. Wifi acceptable for Bolivia. Good location and nice and secure.

A very very good stay - Thanks so much CasArte.

Sadly only stayed one night, lovely place. Super clean, huge comfy bed, massive powerful hot shower and we even had a little balcony to watch the sunset. Staff were all very helpful and the resident schnauzer puppy is ridiculously cute. Couldn't seem to find breakfast in the morning (meant to be included?) but we did leave very early. About ten mins walk to central Sucre. Good value for money I though. Wish I could take it with me everywhere else in Bolivia!

Great, helpful staff (though spanish speaking only). Dorms are massive, there is so much space. Very clean, beautiful funky artwork and a gorgeous puppy. Breakfast is great, and the whole place has a great social atmosphere. Around 10 min walk to the plaza, only 1.5 blocks to the massive supermarket. Highly recommend.

Other places feels like hostels. This costs the same as a hostel but feels much more deluxe. White washed art covered walls, an outdoor kitchen in an airy garden, magnificent views of the city and surrounding mountains, clean, comfortable rooms with fluffy towels (I know, what are they again?!) lovely staff and owners that would bend over backwards for you (when I busted my foot playing sport the owner took me on his motorbike to the nearest radio scan and got me fixed in no time), decent breakfast, 5 minutes walk from the main square of Sucre on a quiet street. Folks, you know what, just go there....

Room Tip: Get one of the upstairs rooms for the best views, its cracking

This hostel is located just five or so minutes from the main square. It's a really nice setting and quiet. The breakfast is better than most hostels with eggs and fruit and bread offered. Reasonably priced as well.

Good all around stay in Sucre!
