We first visited this hotel 2 years ago, and this trip only confirmed that this is an excellent hotel to stay. Raul is now back in situ, and is an extremely nice and helpful person, together with everyone else there being extremely friendly, which makes the stay very enjoyable.
It is a colonial style building with an interior courtyard with plants in containers all around, and has several floors, the top two having sun terraces with views over the city. All the rooms contain antique furniture which gives a nice feel to the rooms.
Good breakfast with scrambled eggs, normal range of breads, cakes and fruits, together with a large range of teas, coffee, chocolate and fruit juices.
They also cook mid-day and evening meals in the restaurant. Internet is available It is only a short walk to the centre of Sucre, past some splendid colonial buildings.
Thoroughly recommended!

Room Tip: Rooms away from the street are quieter.

We have just stayed a night at this Hotel in Sucre and it is a charming place to stay it has great character and charm and is beautifully decorated.
We stayed in room 10 and had no problems with noise, but we felt the bed could be bigger but as the room is not that large this could be a problem.
We thought the staff were really friendly and helpful and nothing was to much trouble. The views of the city from the roof are stunning and lovely places to sit and read or have a drink.p

Dear Nestcottage,
Thank you for sharing your comments with us.

I’m happy that you appreciated our helpful staff, in Su Merced we say: “no detail is too small and no request is too large”.
Thanks for your feedback about the bed, in following years we will re-invest in equipment and we have taken your comment seriously.

Sincerely,
Carmen

Very nice hotel with very attentive staff. We spent two nights at the Hostal de Su Merced on our way back from Uyuni and Potosí and we do not regret it. Our room was on the top floor, which ensured great vistas of Sucre, which is definitely worth visiting. The furniture was Spanish colonial and everything was extremely clean. Breakfast was very generous, with succulent home-baked cakes. The only (minor) drawback may have been the service ring used by reception to call employees. That would be used early in the morning too... Other than that, absolutely no complaint whatsoever - everyone there was proud to be working on such magnificent grounds.

The staff is great, especially with children. Rooms are very nice. It is clean and the breakfast is super. Excellent view from the terasse. We had a great time here and will probebly return, as we already did once.

Highly recommend this hotel. The building is beautiful and the view of the city from the roof is spectacular. Even the rooms are kept in colonial style. Other than that the staff is friendly, location is right in the center, rooms are clean and wifi works well.
