“"Seoul" Average”

I wouldn't drive to Ann Arbor especially to come to this restaurant. We heard people raving about the fried chicken here so we decided to give it a go. After reading all the Yelp reviews that complained about waiting at the restaurant or for delivery (between 1 hour to 2 hours I've read), we decided the smart thing to do would be to order online and tell them we're eating at the restaurant. We picked the earliest time available to pick up our food which was 1.5 hours after ordering.

Our food was ready when we arrived. Unfortunately, they have really limited seating since the restaurant is tiny. We managed to share a table with another group. We ordered the kimchi fries, kimchi fried rice, vegetarian bibimbop and a XL fried chicken. It also came with a side of corn and a side of radishes. In total, it cost around $50 but the portions were HUGE. A lot bigger than what we expected. The kimchi fries was certainly unique and tasted good. The kimchi fried rice was rather one noted. The vegetarian bibimbop was disappointing. It just seemed a little bland and lacking. The fried chicken was good, the skin was crispy and the inside was very moist and juicy. Their chicken was good quality. It isn't the best fried chicken or "to die for" but it was decent.

Overall, considering the time it takes from ordering to eating and the averageness of the food items, I wouldn't specifically drive to Ann Arbor for Seoul Street but I wouldn't mind coming back again if I was in the area.

“Some delicious korean Fried Chicken”
Reviewed 18 February 2014

If you've never had Korean fried chicken, you should definitely give this place a try. We always go with the soy garlic. We also love the kimchi fries. Just make sure to order ahead online or via phone as it takes a good 25-30 minutes for your order to be ready. You definitely don't want to just show up and order as you'll be waiting a while. Definitely one of our favorite places for some comfort food in A2.

“Seoul Street's got soul”
Reviewed 10 October 2013

Excellent fried chicken. Best fried chicken I've had in Michigan. Popeyes is good, but at least at Seoul Street, you actually get some sorta spiciness to it.

We ordered the XL bucket of fried chicken which contained 20 pieces for $25 of wings/strips and drums/thighs. Comes with a side of pickled radish or corn salad. You could also glaze it with hot & spicy or garlic soy....can't decide? Go half and half.

My only complaint with the chicken is that they breaded it so much to fry that almost half of its volume is the fried stuff and the other half is the actual chicken meat. Ease off the starch and it'd be even better, IMO.

We also ordered the kimchi fries. They are also great. No complaints. I'd recommend them along your meal as well. We also tried adding some "protein" (choice of various proteins: bulgolgi, tofu, beans, spam, or some other variation of meat) to it. They do add some sparingly, and I didn't think it added much goodness to the fries...especially for an extra dollar. You can go without it.

Overall the place is great and I'd come back. Seoul Street's got soul.

TIP: Call in your order in advanced if you're taking out! Call in, pick up when its ready, and leave. Saves you some time.

“Awesome Korean food, a little slow”
Reviewed 14 April 2013

My brother and I found this by chance while visiting family in the hospital. We loved it and visited twice in two days. We had the Korean tacos, kimchi fried rice, and bi bim bop. The tacos were absolutely awesome. The other food was good but the tacos stood out. Two negative pints were it was pretty slow but to be fair they were busy. Also the menu was confusing. For anyone who likes Asian food at all this is a definite visit. If you are at the med center, it is a quick visit and a great break from the hospital for those visiting long term.
