And see what interests them. Grandson loved the curio cabinet and the woolly mammoths. Granddaughters sized up the fossil whale jaws and talked with all the stuffed birds. Everyone loved the planetarium show.

My kids had a great time looking at the Dinosaur and Rock exhibits! Can easily do the whole museum in about an hour and a half. Planetarium is small but kids enjoyed the show. GREAT giftshop!

I visited this museum on a Saturday morning and had no problems finding parking on a side street nearby (metered parking). If it was a busy day on campus it could be challenging to find parking nearby. The bus stop is right outside the museum if you want to take public transportation.

There are three floors of interesting exhibits. Highlights included the dinosaur area, animals of Michigan, and a temporary exhibit on race. Some of the exhibits seemed a little dated, but they seem to regularly be updating a few at a time. There were a lot of young families there was I was there, and a variety of hands-on presentations scheduled throughout the day targeted especially for children.

This is a free museum with a donation box inside the door for contributions. Suggested donation is $6. The planetarium show on the top floor requires purchasing tickets ahead of time, and it was not clear where to purchase them without asking (tickets are purchased in the gift shop off the lobby).

This is a free museum (donations accepted) at the University of Michigan. It has a fantastic display of Dinosaur skeletons and bones. The Museum is not overly large, and can be seen in just a few hours. Parking is tricky to find, as there is no parking close to the museum. But overall, a really great place to take the kids for a few hours.

Great for an afternoon or with a school group. They've redone a lot of the exhibits, and often rearrange things to keep it interesting for your next visit.
