This hotel, which seems quite new, has some nice quirky elements in the public spaces and in the guest rooms. Free, extensive breakfast is fine, though of course if you're a serious health nut you will be eating just oatmeal and a hard-boiled egg (and doing so with people in their pajamas!!). There's a nice pool and tiny fitness room (which seems too small to satisfy a traveler staying her long term). The rooms are spacious, new, and have lovely little kitchens with giant fridges and dishwashers! Nicely done. The cons: the walls and the door are paper paper thin. It's as if the door is open - the hall noise is SO loud. There is no quiet side or floor here, as the highway is right outside. Also: the clock/radio requires a PhD in complex engineering to figure out how to work it...
On the other side is another hotel and a mall. There is no food right outside the hotel but maybe in the mall? The local bus has a stop at the mall, a little bit of a walk from the hotel, and Air Ride, coming from the airport, drops off at a hotel about .4/mi away, which is fine if you have a rolling bag and nice weather. One plus: the staff = fantastic. All very gracious! A taxi into Ann Arbor is about $12 without tip.More
