What a nice restaurant!
Nearly every Monday during the past two summers, we take our pre-school grand-daughter for a play date with the two daughters of husband-and-wife teachers. (We bring lunch and adult beverages and they let the three little girls trash their playroom.) Discovering Giardino's because it's on the way, we decided to stop in to try something new. We're so glad we did, because we're now Monday regulars.
The young women who accept your "take-away" order are always helpful, polite and competent -- they've never made a mistake (this is something of a miracle because the adult pizza we order usually has twists and turns galore). The toppings are always dewy fresh, the cheese is perfectly proportional, and the grease factor is minimal (the old method of mopping up the surface grease with a napkin before indulging is never required here). When you go to the take-away counter, you can see the chefs in the kitchen who always happily greet you.
To be fair, we've never tried any of their other offerings, the variety of which is considerable -- salads, soups, calzones, etc., so we can't comment on those. Giardino's also now serves beer and wine -- again, we've never indulged, but the selections of both beverages are varied and way beyond simple domestics. Giardino's is pristinely clean and the place seems to be jumpin' on Mondays between 11am and 1pm -- business people, families with kids, tradesmen -- if you're busy for Monday lunch, you're a great restaurant.
There is ample free parking, easy on/off at I-94, free WiFi, multiple large-screen TVs (usually tuned to sports), outdoor seating when weather permits, and plenty of comfortable restaurant seating indoors. They even have seating near the take-away counter where you could enjoy a beer or a glass of wine while waiting for your take-away order.
Can't wait 'til next Monday when we'll be back to Giardino's.
