The Burnt Toast Inn is an exceptional place if you are looking for true hospitality. We were in town for my brother's graduation and the Inn made our trip that much more memorable. Our stay was accomodated by a family, not folks in uniform trained to be nice and serve you. The rooms are clean, comfortable and charming, and the house is well-kept, welcoming and warm. You have your space and privacy as expected with any Inn, but here conversation and a friendly atmosphere is also open to you should you choose to enter it. Adding to this uniquely warm experience is Bo - nothing short of a major Bo-nus, which is to say dog-lovers should book with caution because you will fall in love here!

I made the right choice to stay at Burnt Toast Inn during my stay at Ann Arbor to attend an academic conference. Great room, ambiance, style, and breakfast! If I need to be in Michigan again I will certainly try to get a room at the place again. Not all facilities (like wireless connection) worked faultlessly all the time, but that did not dampen the joy of staying there. I also got some good advice on sightseeing and restaurants to try out. Good luck!

Thank Torstan

I have visited Ann Arbor on business several times and stayed in anonymous chain hotels, but this time I tried The Burnt Toast Inn. It will be my base in Ann Arbor from now on. The innkeeper was wonderfully welcoming, breakfast was excellent, the room was comfortable and cozy, and I could spend evenings reading on the front porch swing. As if that wasn't enough, the inn is in a great neighborhood and just a few walkable blocks from downtown Ann Arbor, where there are good restaurants, interesting shops, and browsable bookstores. I strongly recommend The Burnt Toast Inn.

We talked to the owner and her daughter 2 months ahead of time. We came from out of town for a wedding and had arranged a 1PM arrival time, so we could take a shower and a nap before the rehearsal dinner. We called at 11AM, 12:45PM, 3PM, 5PM, 6PM and finally got a return phone call in the middle of the rehearsal dinner, at 7:45PM and THE OWNER ADMITTED SHE FORGOT WE WERE COMING. We checked in at 10:45PM. The room was cramped and dusty and worn. The two breakfasts were good and the downstairs bathroom had a clawfoot tub which was lovely. When I asked to use an iron, I was taken to a dirty basement and told to carry the ironing board upstairs myself. When we checked out, we asked politely asked for a small discount because we were unable to use the B&B until 10:45PM. THE OWNER SCREAMED AND YELLED AT THE TOP OF HER LUNGS and then completely lost any control and her daughter took over. We would never go there again and wanted to warn others.
