OK, this is a positive review - and we are members of the winery. However, we are members of the winery because we like it so much. When we lived on the Central Coast of California, we were members (off and on) of almost 100 wineries. Those were some really good wines. It's difficult to find that in Minnesota, but find it we did at Carlos Creek. Granted, they source the grapes for some of their wines from California, but the winemaker does an excellent job with them. They also produce some pretty darned good wine from local grapes. Give them a try. I don't think you will be disappointed at all.

Wineries are rather sparse in this part of Minnesota, but the extra miles we traveled were well worth the trip. Wine tasting (5 varieties of our selection) at $7 per person including a souvenir glass provided a very nice experience within a very nice facility. The serving staff was friendly, professional and very informative and attentive to four of us in our group as well as another dozen or so present. Wines were very nice with some exceptional in my layman's opinion. I am certainly no expert but have experience with good and bad through the years. We also enjoyed a tour of the wine processing facility and cellar. It was very informative and provided time for questions. It was not excessively long which was appreciated as we also had other stops on our road trip. This facility also holds wedding receptions and parties up to between 300 & 400 guests according to staff we spoke with. I would recommend this winery without question.

Dear Elise,
You're in great company with your love of Hot Dish Red - it's has been our best-selling wine since 2008 when we introduced it. We have added to our food offerings and now have a Panini and Pizza grill that is open weekends from Memorial Weekend - Labor Day.

Lovely atmosphere, amazing wines (I like the "Hotdish Red"), great staff. Worth the visit. Other interesting things in the gift shop, surprising crystalline pottery, and the food I had was yummy. I think they do weddings and events like that as well.
