I don't know where to begin.
We first visited the winery about a year ago, when visiting to see if we would like to book out wedding there. Michelle, who coordinates weddings was wonderful. We booked with them, and have been impressed since. My bachelorette party visited for a wine tasting and food in the tasting room in June. Te food and wine are exceptional, although we had a poor experience with one employee who was not service oriented. She told us she would not accept anyone late for the tour of the winery. After explains that there were 16 of us, all of which came from out of town, she repeated that it was too late. The tour started at 1:00pm, and we arrived at 1:01. This was the only issue we had with them in the course of a year.
Michelle answered multiple emails a day answering questions regarding our wedding, and she did so kindly and promptly.
Paige was the employee who helped us with our rehearsal and wedding day. She was organized and hard working. She rarely came to me with questions or guidance (which was appreciated as I had so any places to be and things to do). She was able to independently take care of everything in the reception hall, from decor to assisting the bridal party and ushers with tasks and duties, and I know there was much more behind the scenes that I don't know. The food, service, and atmosphere of the wedding was perfect. Our guests raves about the winery, the food, te staff and of course the wine. Many guests walked over to the tasting room to purchase multiple bottles of wine, they were so impressed.
As a day visitor the food is great, the wine is Great, there is often live music inside, and the outdoors is absolutely beautiful landscaped.
This is a must see, even inlf you have to travel to get here!!

Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm so glad your experiences with Carlos Creek have been so positive - except for the tour. You have my sincere apologies for that. Likely, the tour at 1:00 was full (we can only fit 40 in our production space) but it sounds like we failed to make that clear or offer you tickets for the 3:00 tour, both of which we will work to correct going forward. I am sharing your review with Michelle and Paige, both of whom work extremely hard to make every wedding flawless. They are going to be just thrilled to hear your praise. Thank you again and we will strive to earn your praise each and every time you visit our winery.

We are visiting from Michigan and this winery was recommended. Always up for a nice glass of wine so we decided to pay a visit. What a nice place! The staff was very friendly and explained the wines during our sampling quite well.
We took the tour and, again, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable on the process and the grapes used at Carlos Creek.
We bought a case of wine and sat outside and enjoyed a few glasses before we left.
Two thumbs up to Carlos Creek Winery. We will return.

We were with a group and did both the tour and tasting. It is a beautiful setting. The tour was very informative and there is a great selection of wine for the tasting. It is a stop not to be missed when visiting Alexandria.

We arrived here Just in time for the winery tour ( unplanned but well worth it) I have been to a couple other MN winery tours but the best part of this was being able to go into the cellar and see the wine ageing in oak.. I thought it was very interesting that most of the barrels come from California but are made from Minnesota white Oak. we then had the tasting that was free as we had our Winery passports with us..we have gotten the hot dish red before and liked it so we went more for summer sipping wine..got two bottles of White Marquette ( Wonderful!) , a bottle of Peach Street and one of harvest white both light and very drinkable.
The only drawback is that it is somewhat hard to get to coming from the north ( not on 94) a lot of county roads and many turns at least according to Map Quest.

I'm so glad you enjoyed the tour! Our barrel cave is a favorite with our tour guests, and also a favorite spot for wedding photos. We've even used it as a tornado shelter once - a happy spot to wait out a storm! Our Peach Street has been extremely popular this year since it won the Chairman's Award - Best in Class at the Riverside, CA International Wine Competition.

And thanks for letting us know about the difficulty you experienced navigating from the North. The most direct route from the North does take you on a number of County roads - thankfully they are all paved - and we think it's a most scenic drive! Please stop again when you are in Alexandria.
