we came here after hearing rav reviews from everyone in town that this place was a must. the ice cream was great but we were disapointed with the service. the waitress seemed annoyed that we would come in just for ice cream. in between each scoop she licked her hands. I don't think that's allowed by any health code standard. there was also a creepy man there that kept staring at us and pacing around the place. too bad we had such a negative experience because the ice cream was great

We're sorry you had such an unpleasant experience. We strive very hard to create a warm positive environment for each of our guests. Sometimes we make mistakes. It is our established policy that anyone handling ice cream wear gloves. Thanks for the reminder we will be reinforcing that policy. We were out of town when you were here otherwise we would have gladly talked to you personally about your experience. We're also sorry that my handicapped brother who has Autism upset you. He is mentally challenged and harmless but socially unaware that his behaviors can sometimes make people uncomfortable. If your ever back this way again give us a chance to apologize in person and show you some of the great service that others experience. Thanks

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful buffet at this historical setting. There were three meats which were outstanding! For dessert we had some of their homemade frozen custard. My husband had the cheesecake custard and I had the double fudge brownie custard, which was a bit too sweet for me. However, it didn't deter from the overall experience. We will definitely come here over and over!

Based on TripAdvisor reviews, we headed to Thee Abbey Kitchen after a very warm couple of hours exploring Elephant Rocks. The historic setting is interesting, and we all loved the flexibility of wandering from the dining area to the creamery to the bake shop area and paying when we were all done. Lunch prices are a steal - a half sandwich and homemade chips for $3.95?! Very filling and delicious (especially the bread), and you can't beat that price. Ice cream was amazingly good - not surprising since it's made on site. Try the chocolate brownie if it's available! The staff were very friendly and took time to strike up conversation with us. I can't recommend this place highly enough - we loved it!

I had the all you can eat soup, salad, and bread lunch. Husband had the philly cheese sandwich. His meal was awesome! My meal was good (its salad, how amazing can that be?) We both LOVED the bread served, all bread is home made. It is simply awesome! Try the baked goods and creamery. He loved his chocolate ice cream! The building is really cool and you will get to have a unique dining experience here!
