“Awesome B&B”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 February 2011

My husband and I booked reservations for a Valentine's Day dinner nearby at Montelle and then I looked for nearby overnight accommodations. We stayed in the Rose room that had heated tile flooring in the bathroom and a large air-jetted clawfoot tub. There were 2 rooms upstairs and 2 rooms on the main floor. There is a BEAUTIFUL sunroom/living room with a 2 sided stone fireplace. Debbie and Bill are very gracious hosts and the breakfast was superb. I was extremely comfortable there were I haven't been comfortable at other B&Bs. They had some wine and soft drinks for guests and fresh hot baked bread and cookies upon our arrival. It was very convenient to the nearby wineries.

Debbie and Bill are very nice people. They are very knowledgeable about the town and surrounding areas. Their house is beautiful. My spouse and I really enjoyed the indoor fireplace, it is cozy and relaxing. The breakfasts were wonderful and very filling, you could almost skip lunch. The hot tub was great since the temperature was around 30F for the time we were there. We are definitely looking forward to returning.

If you are staying in Augusta, the Lindenhof is an excellent choice. The house and grounds are beautiful, the breakfast is phenominal and the people are fantastic. Make sure to stop by Augusta Wood and Bella's Cafe. Since most things close by 8 or 9 a late night dip in the hot tub or book by the fire are the perfect way to end the day.

I stayed at the Lindenhof B&B with a few friends for a weekend getaway. Augusta is an easy drive from St. Louis, but far enough out that you feel like you’re in the country. The Inn was the perfect setting for our reunion. The bedrooms were large and beautifully decorated with very comfortable beds. The private bathrooms were very nice with large claw foot tubs. Everything was exceptionally clean and the linens were wonderfully fragranced. The large dining room and hearth room with a huge fireplace were the perfect place for us girls to gather, talk and have some wine and coffee. There was plenty of space to spread out and relax. The outdoor patio and fireplace and hot tub gave us additional areas to hang out. The hot tub was a welcome site after we had hiked in nearby Klondike Park and on the Katy Trail. Debbie and Bill Schaefer were excellent hosts. They were so welcoming and helped us settle in and described various activities in the area. There was hiking and biking trails, historical Daniel Boone Village, many wineries, antique shops and restaurants. Plenty to keep us girls busy. The breakfast that Debbie served us in the morning was sinfully good; fresh orange juice, stuffed waffles, bacon, dilled eggs, bisquits, coffee and tea. I loved waking up to that wonderful coffee aroma. Now I need another hike. I will definitely come back to stay at the Lindenhof with friends or for a romantic weekend. I want to get my bicycle tuned up and come back to take a ride on the Katy Trail, jump in the hot tub and spend the night at the Inn with a nice glass of wine and a book. What a great way to rejuvenate the spirit.

We had a wonderful stay at the Lindenhof! Great breakfasts, wonderful rooms and great hosts! We discovered that we had some family history in the area too! We enjoyed a great get-away, and we would love to make a return visit!

My husband and I have visited Lindenhof for 4 years now to celebrate our anniversary. We always go in the fall which is such a beautiful time of year to visit Augusta and the wineries. Debbie and Bill offer such warm and inviting hospitality. They are in a great location to be able to walk to restaurants and shops and a quick drive to all of the wineries in the area. They know Augusta very well and they always make suggestions for dinner plans and places to go. Katie trail is nice and close too. The beds are very comfortable and the house is decorated so cute. We LOVE the outside fireplace and the hearth room with the inside fireplace. The hot tub is a very nice feature also. You are welcomed with warm bread, hot chocolate chip cookies throughout the days and wine! They also have wonderful breakfasts.........my favorite - stuffed french toast with orange marmalade and the havarti cheese egg souffle!! We have never had the same breakfast twice except the stuffed french toast but only at my request. You won't leave the table disappointed. I would recommend this B&B if you want to enjoy a cute quiet town, nice wineries, and great hospitality. They are wonderful people and we look forward to every annual visit! See you again soon!

Being innkeepers ourselves, we've discovered a little trick, which keeps the fires burning and helps us refuel to welcome new guests. We planned a one night getaway for some R&R. This trip, we decided to venture to Augusta, a 2 hour drive from home. We found the perfect fit for us in Lindenhof B&B. Debbie welcomed us and we felt as if we were meeting an old friend. She is a seasoned innkeeper and knew exactly what we were seeking, as we entrusted her with our R&R. We were pampered and felt so relaxed. We laughed, shared stories and enjoyed our time in Bill & Debbie's beautiful and comfy home. In spite of the sauna-like heat outside(uh, over 100 degrees!), we were cool inside, as we visited over a glass of wine, in wonderful company.

We couldn't have made a better choice. The property is in a perfect setting and is close to the wineries and antique shops. The history of the house is intriguing . Bill & Debbie have done wonderful things with the interior. Guest rooms are spacious and comfy. The house is historic, and quite inviting and has the most beautiful sun room with a huge stone fireplace. (Hmmmm, I see a future trip when crisp autumn nights arrive...to spend time in front of a roaring fire!) We thoroughly enjoyed our little "sneak away for the night". The Blueberry pancakes with caramel syrup, fancy egg scramble, and bacon were YUMMMMMO!!!!! I want some recipes! :0) We did stop for Penn Station subs in O'Fallon on the way home about 1pm, but we were still so full from breakfast, we put them in the cooler for later! Thank you so much Debbie! You are the hostess with the most-est and a real asset to (BBIM)Bed and Breakfast Inns of Missouri!!
