“Not the place to go if you are very hungry”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2013

The food was average, nothing special, but the portions were so small that it ended up feeling like a rip-off. The waitress was ok, not overly friendly. The burgers looked good but the special, which was Wiener schnitzel, was only mediocre. For example, the waitress said it came with potato pancakes which were actually fried hash brown patties the size and shape of silver dollar pancakes. It came with two, which I thought was stingy. The schnitzel, instead of being a solid piece of meat inside, was boiled and sliced pork. We left kinda hungry and disappointed. With a little effort, the staff could give its patrons a MUCH better meal. On the plus side, the beer was cold.

“Lunch & B&B Breakfast”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 July 2013

Wonderful food, prepared by the owner Paul. We had lunch here on Saturday and they used fresh local produce, noticed in the homegrown tomatoes, yum!!! Also was the restuarant that served our B&B breakfast which was amazing!!!!!

“Wiener Schnitzel, Sweet & Sour Red Cabbage & Potato Pancakes - Great!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 October 2012

Stopped by for lunch while out for a ride. Today's special was Wiener Schnitzel with Sweet & Sour Red Cabbage & Potato Pancakes. Had Peach Cobbler for desert. With Iced Tea, total was $18. Server was friendly, food was great, atmosphere was pleasant. Interesting that there are pictures of fighter aircraft mixed with pictures of flowers. There is the air frame of a Piper J-3 Cub hanging from the ceiling; turns out it belonged to the owner of the building who was a pilot.

“Underwhelming and over priced to boot!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 October 2012

I visited Ashley's Rose restaurant while in Augusta for a weekend getaway. Atmosphere was not great and the menu was overpriced, but decided to give it a chance anyway. Out of our group of five, one person enjoyed their meal (she had chicken fingers and a twice baked potato). The rest of us were very disappointed. Service wasn't bad, but also nothing to rave about.

Word of warning: steer clear of the french onion soup. It had about 5x the amount of bouillon necessary...VERY salty.

“Nice, local pub in downtown Augusta”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 September 2012

There aren't many places to eat in Augusta past 6, and Ashley Rose is where the locals hang out. It's not a five-star restaurant, but they have plenty to choose from, reasonable prices, and a refreshingly informal atmosphere that you don't find at the wineries.
