“What an unbelieveable find!”
Reviewed 28 March 2011

I travel extensively on business and I have never met such gracious and wonderful hosts or managers as Jorge and his wife Cindy.

We had made a reservation for my wife and I and our dog when we unexpectedly had to add two kittens to our entourage. Not only Jorge and Cindy were able accommodate us, but when one of the kittens got sick and we had to leave in the middle of the night for an emergency trip to the vet, Jorge would not let us reimburse him for the washcloth but also gave us a towel to take with us.

Not only are the rooms very clean and recently remodeled but they full Direct TV and free Internet which is surprising for a town that doesn't even have grocery store! And all of this for less than $100/night!

I would almost make a trip to Austin just to stay there again! This is from somebody that has spent up to 200 nights a year in hotels on four continents, including some of the most well known luxury brands.

Thank you – we really appreciate what you do too (rescuing those kittens)!

We do not normally accept pets and the primary reason is the most pet owners don’t want to be responsible for picking up after their dogs, even when politely asked to do so. We have been physically threatened when asking non-guests (Toy Nut), to please pick up.

My husband, Jorge had a good feeling about you. Rightly so.

We enjoy and care about what we do and want our guests to be comfortable. Plus we want them to experience and enjoy Awesome Austin.

We look forward to seeing you again. (Reservations strongly recommended!)

We needed motel accommodations in Austin, NV, for our photo visit to Hickison Summit Petroglyphs and Toquima Cave Pictographs. Choosing the Cozy Mountain Motel resulted from Internet research. My first reaction came when we checked in. I presented my AAA credit card after Cindy, one of the new owners, had figured up my bill. I had not thought about a discount. She immediately crossed out her figures and applied the AAA discount of 10%, and recalculated the bill. But we were even more impressed by the cleanliness of the unit. Clean, neat, nicely appointed, with microwave and frig, and very efficient bathroom. We had chosen a room with two twin beds, so to say the least, it was cozy. In appraising the other motels in Austin from the outside, I suspect that most, if not all, have basically small rooms, compared to the usual motel chains. But the location was definitely ideal for our visit, and we were delighted with the room, and the friendly service of the owners, Cindy and Jorge. When we return to Austin, we look forward to another visit at the Cozy Mountain Motel.

Only good thing was that the room was clean and the people at the office were nice.
The price was way too high for this 9'' by 8'' trailer room sitting right on the road. Better off driving to Eureka for a decent room at a decent price (Motel 6 was 50% less expensive).

There is no Motel 6 in Eureka – the closest one is in Fallon – 120+ miles to the west of us. They are 10% more on the week-end and 5% less during the week. Their rooms may be bigger, but we offer pillow top mattresses , oversized feather pillows, bathtubs, spa-quality soap, shampoo and conditioner, Charmin’ toilet tissue, Kleenex Ultra-soft tissues, and 170 TV channels. The Best Western in Eureka is 50+% more any day of the week.
Any guest is welcome to see a room before signing up. Your room, No. 4, is our smallest and measures 9 feet 5 inches by 11 feet 2 inches in the bedroom. The pillow-top queen bed is 5 feet wide by 6 feet 8 inches. Yes, we are a “trailers”. Well-constructed, not pasted together. It’s obvious to most people from the exterior.
Austin is a town of 200 people with the closest town, Eureka, 70 miles east. There are no fast food franchises or motel chains here. It's non-rubber stamped, rural, small town and wide-open spaced America at its finest!

We got a room with a queen size bed. It's been a while since I slept in a queen size bed. I was somewhat smaller the last time I tried it. It was really a comfortable bed though. Everything was clean and neat. The in room HDTV, Microwave, and Refer was a good touch. It seems like the place must have just been remodeled because everything looked new. I liked the free internet connection. Austin Nevada is a cool town.

The Cozy Mountain Motel is a great place to stay in Austin. The wifi internet was a bit slow when I was there so I wouldn't count on doing much web surfing but for checking e-mail it was functionable. Bottom line the room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Be sure to call in advance to get a renovated room.

What a lovely surprise! Located miles from anywhere in the living ghost town of Austin at the very heart of Nevada on the “Loneliest Highway in America” is a gem of a refuge: the Cozy Mountain Motel. This lovely little motel has been completely remodeled both inside and out by the current owners. They have done an amazing job of converting mobile home units linked end to end into a comfortable haven for weary travelers. The paint is fresh and the window boxes of flowers are as welcoming as the management. The rooms, though small, have been thoughtfully arranged and provide conveniences for a very comfortable stay: pillow-top mattresses, crisp linens, fluffy pillows, flat screen TVs, wireless internet connection, a basket of spa soaps and lotions for a good hot shower and best of all, silence. Each room is carefully cleaned and the property is well-maintained. Conveniently located half a block across the street is the International Café & Bar which offers a reasonably priced and hearty breakfast, lunch and dinner menu as well as beer and wine. So, the next time you find yourself traveling through the center of Nevada be sure to reserve a room at the Cozy Mountain Motel; both my husband and I recommend it!
