The cheese spread and crackers appetizers at the front door were the beginning of a delicious evening. We had the entire front section reserved for a party. The atmosphere was comfortable and they took good care of us. The pot roast portions were very generous and it tasted great. We thought it was strange that those who ordered butternut squash ravioli received butternut ravioli as their side vegetable. A little variety would have been nice. Dessert was a trio of cheesecake bites.

We weren't sure what to expect since the Common Man is a chain, though a local NH chain. We were very impressed. Food and service were very good. Judy had a salad with a crab cake. I had the cod dinner.

I recently visited this place while staying at the Glynn House Inn. The first I was very disappointed by the service we received from the Bartender. She barely acknowledge that we were there and and very obvious aggravated with someone she was working with. We went again the second night because it was 5 minutes away and they were going to have live music. The same bartender was a little friendlier and more accommodating this time, but the band never showed up. I like the food, the atmosphere and will probably go back with hopes for a better experience.

We have been eating here for years. The Ashland Common Man was the first of what is now one of the many Common Man Restaurants. We have eaten many meals here. Most have been good to very good. I have found the steak and prime rib to be inconsistent. Sometimes they are excellent. Other times the meat is tough. The atmosphere is comfortable.Service is generally very good.
Recently, I had the reintroduced rack of Lamb. It was outstanding !! That is why I finally decided to write this review. We will continue to patronize this well known establishment.
