For the price this hotel was excellent. I needed an affordable hotel both near Weirs Beach and Meredith,NH. The hotel was about 25-30 minutes away. The hotels, and B &B in town were double the price. The front desk person Katie or Kristie,I can't remember, was friendly and professional. The site says check in time is 2pm but when we arrived they informed us it really was 3pm but they they let us check in early anyway.

It should be noted that this hotel has no elevator and that the parking lot is across the Street.
My room had no curtains, the fan in the bathroom did not work, and the air conditioning unit did not work. Desk clerk gave me a blanket, a clothespin, and a chip clip to rig up some kind of privacy!
The first 2 hours of my stay consisted of calls to the front desk for the numerous problems. Finally, at 9:45 PM, it was decided that a room change was in order. This was not a little project, I was traveling alone with 3 children from ages 10 to 4. Re-packing and moving down 2 flights (no elevator) was not a minor undertaking.
Result. $15.00 taken off my bill.
The hotel itself was clean, the rooms are very nice. Would I go there again or recommend it? NO!!!

Room Tip: If an elevator and close parking are important to you, don't stay here.

The hotel was clean upon arrival and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean. DirectTV on HDTV in room. The bathroom could use a little updating but it is in no way old or in disarray. It was in good working order and clean. My only complaint is the water pressure was a little low for my liking. Breakfast was small but adequate and the staff member was quick to replenish and clean up when people left. Overall, this hotel met my expectations and I would gladly return to this hotel if in the area again.

We were there for only one night due to my family have no extra bedrooms during our weekend/holiday vacation. The hotel, when you entered smells of cigarettes, as did our room (which was a non-smoking room). The fact that the room was not truly cleaned was a major downfall. Dirty undergarments and beer bottle were found in the room conveniently placed under the green chair in the corner. It was a bit of nasty scare when we went to turn on the standing lamp. Managements needs to ensure their cleaning staff is truly cleaning the rooms before each new guest.

My husband and I have spent many many nights at the Comfort Inn in Ashland, and would NEVER consider trying any other lodging in the area. Front Staff is awesome, they ALWAYS accommodated the room requests we had. Staff treats you like family, and goes out of their way for you.

The Lakes area of NH is expensive- especially so during Fall Foliage season. The hotel room was clean and the staff was good. There were two problems though: first, a strong skunk smell in the hall just outside the room and second, very low hot water pressure. The bathroom could do with an update too- cracks in the tub and the grout. For $170/night, the room should be better.

Thank you for your review. We want to you to know we take each review seriously and want to apoligize for the skunk smell and low water presure. Unfortunately we have no control of our outside furry friends but can certainly empathize with you because of the smell. The water presure sometimes is very low especially if we have a full house. This is due to town water presure being supplied to us. Again we do apoligize for any inconvience.

I've stayed several times in the Comfort Inn, Ashland, N.H. and 9 out of 10 times it has been extremely clean, free breakfast (home made waffles, coffee, etc...) has been better than in average 'free continental breakfasts'. Only 1 bad experience due to lack of support at front desk (untrained/inexperienced youth who didn't plan on being a hotel mgr...).
