For many times I’ve been to SC and was inclined to stay at LP Hotel because of some good reviews, but always the localization made me refute the idea. Finally this last time I should visit the city, I had some points to redeem from an Mileage Program and decided to take the chance to know the hotel. The issues started at the check in, that should be at 2h30 pm. We reached the hotel at about 2h10 pm and in 10 minutes were ready to go to the room. They asked us to wait until 2h30 pm. I thought the hotel was very rigorous about the "rules" and maybe this could mean a good thing. But for our surprise, we were no invited to go to the room when it was 2h30, nor 20h40, nor 20h50 and when it was 2h55 we complained. They said something about the delay and asked some more time! Finally at about 3h05 we could proceed to the room. Second issue would start: we´ve booked a matrimonial room and there were 2 smaller bags put together! We went back to the reception and complained about it. After some minutes the lady was convinced that our reservation was clear enough about the kind of room and agreed to solve the problem. Instead of asking us to wait some time at the “wrong room”, they asked us to go down with all the suitcases! We did that and it was another 30 min until they could provide us the correct room. Seems they did not have other option, unless offering us a superior room, much bigger and provided with a Jacuzzi. The room was ok. Not my kind of decoration (too much white, cold feeling) , but most important it was clean enough. Just one point about the bathroom: the shower stall is not fixed and in my opinion it is dangerous. You can fall if you don´t realize it is not fixed. The shower was not so powerful, but the temperature was ok. We did not test the jacuzzi. For the rest it was ok. Good TV, good AC and enough space if you plan to hang your clothes, etc. The breakfast is not included (at least was not for us), so it is good to check it in advance. The options for breakfast were good. Nothing so splendid referring to the taste of the cakes, at least. In resume I think the owners must be more careful about their workers especially at front desk. They really did not seem to be much worried about the issues we had checking in and later. No worries about being fast! The workers cleaning rooms and at food area were kinder. And for sure they need to be more disciplined about the times, because their check out is at mid-day. If check in is at 2h30 pm they have more than 2 hours to have the rooms ready for the next guests! I think it is time enough and we should have not been waiting for so long!
