Description: This restaurant is in a very old building typical of Santa Cruz many years ago. It is very spacious with a lovely courtyard and furnished typical Santa Cruz style with lots of artifact around. The menu it typical foood of Santa Cruz some of the dishes are pictured on the walls should you not understand the menu. The service is first class as is the food and the price is very good less than $5 a meal it is a simple basic place but excellent

Located in downtown Santa Cruz , in an old local house has a nice atmosphere for a good gastronomic experience
They serve refreshing bolivian drinks and fresh bolivian wines
Rodolfo introduced us to their menu that was very tasty and to many details of the old furniture , telephones and other rare objects
A nice enveronement for a romantic time as ours as well as for bussines meeting
It is located in a tranquil , safe and clean area

I believe this is the best place to try some ethnic food from Santa Cruz and the sourrondings. The restaurant is an old house with a cute water well (Aljibe). They have a huge menu of main dishes, soups, desserts and drinks. My favorite soup was Sopa de Mani (peanuts soup_ a must try!) and I had a spice chicken ( picante de gallina). We had different main dishes and all were good! Dessert some sort of milk custard but really good called Quiero mas and some traditional drinks chicha de mani and mocochinchi.
The food is delicious and its not expensive, you can tell that the food is authentic and they dont cook in large, therefore the flavour and the quality are much better than in other ethnic restaurants in town such as Casa del Camba (didnt like this at all, after trying food at El Aljibe).
I definitely will come back!!

As you walk in into the restaurant, it is hard to tell whether you are in a restaurant or in a museum. There is an incredible display of pictures and artifacts dating back more than a hundred years. In fact, the restaurant is an old house very nicely restored. The waiters are very knowledgeable and friendly. They give you a guided tour of the “museum” and answer any questions you might have. We sat outside next to the Aljibe, which is a rainwater cistern or well. When we ask for the menu, the waiter said “I am the menu”, and on he went reciting the menu. The specialty here is comida tipica or ethnic food. If you want to try authentic cuisine from Santa Cruz, this is the place. You will travel back in time more than a hundred years and not just have an excellent meal, but have an extraordinary experience.

A very nice location in the center of Santa Cruz. unfortunately the waitress had no clue of the dishes offered. Slow service and salad served after the main course. The fishdish was a chicken soup with taste of fish. The waitress did not know which fish it was, where it came from, but she was sure it was fresh. You can get much better food at a more decent price in this nice city.
