We'd already been in Botswana for a fortnight's tented safari when we arrived at the Garden Lodge and only stayed her for 24 hours before leaving the country. We immediately wished we'd got more time to spend here because it's just lovely.
The lodge itself is very attractive, the location is stunning, the food delicious and the staff really friendly.
There are only 8 (I think) rooms so it feels comfortable and friendly.
We had an upstairs double room which was beautiful and it had a staircase leading to a further 2 single beds and an outside terrace/balcony. I sat on the balcony with a cup of tea, watching the sun setting over the Chobe River and the warthogs grazing in the garden- bliss!
The food was lovely- we're vegetarians and to be honest, the food we had in Botswana was more delicious than a lot of the veggie options offered in the UK. The staff sit at the tables to eat with the visitors and because the tables are large, communal ones, everyone chats away to one another about their day, the wildlife they've seen, the places they've been etc.
I also enjoyed sitting by the swimming pool reading, whilst one of the resident cats (named "Cool Dude") sat on my lap.
Kasane is not that big but we had a walk round and found the locals very smiley and friendly.
All-in-all, we loved our time here and wished we'd had longer to enjoy it. Oh well, we'll just have to go back!
