“Comfort food and retro experience”
Reviewed 3 September 2013

We are annual visitors to the area and always make a stop at the Sunryser. It feels like you're walking into a restaurant in Mayberrry. The food is comforting and tasty and it's just nice to find a place that stays the same year after year. We have gone there with 20 family members and they give us the use of the back screened in room where you feel like you're in a tree house, and they accommodate us efficiently. We've also been there with just the immediate family and the experience is the same. It's a great place.

“A great, slightly off the beaten track, experience”
Reviewed 2 August 2013

We went for breakfast at this restaurant after reading the interesting Tripadvisor reviews and we were not disappointed. Usually, on our family trips to th USA, we fit in a Cracker Barrel or IHOP and it was a pleasure to have somewhere independent near to our hotel. The Lumberjack Breakfasts were excellent and very satisfying with high quality sausages and bacon, and delicious pancakes. My teenage daughter does not have as great an appetite than the rest of us, so it was great to have the half-stack pancakes as an option and she really enjoyed the chocolate chip pancakes. On top of the great food, the service was excellent - attentive, friendly and efficient. If you are in Absecon, a must visit, as a refreshing change from Atlantic City.

“Excellent Food but could use better service.”
Reviewed 1 August 2013

My husband and I recently had breakfast here. I'm generally a pretty picky eater when it comes to my eggs, so I was pleasantly surprised when I asked for well done scrambled eggs and I actually got them. Theye also are one of the few places in the area that serves biscuits and gravy, my husbands favorite. The home fries were seasoned well and cooked just right.

My only and biggest complaint was the service. There are only 2 waitresses, one for drinks and the other for food. Because they're running around helping everyone you don't get the country style hospitality you'd expect by the decor.

This was our first time here and we will certainly be back.

“Quaint and Comfortable (as in food)”
Reviewed 21 July 2013 via mobile

Pleasant little breakfast eatery specializing in comfort food. The old school kitchen tables with the hidden leaves that slide out tells you that you are home. Creamed chipped beef was excellent. Haven't had it in years. Freshly made muffins and biscuits add to the experience. Quick and pleasant service. Highly recommend this place for breakfast lovers!
