“Comfortable alternative to Atlantic City”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 August 2014

We, family traveling together, recently stayed here for 2 nights. Reservation was easy, and follow up changes were completed no problem. We had 2 rooms, both were well equipped with safe, refrigerator, flat screen TV and comfortable beds. Rooms on the street side can get noisy, but room on the back side was quiet. Quick check in, and even easier check out. Had receipt emailed to me, and had it before I got to the parking lot. Breakfast area was crowded, so did not get in the queue, but looked like the basic continental options, along with waffles. Easy access to Atlantic City, a straight shot and only a 5-10 minute drive so very close. Not much to walk to, so you will need trnasportation. All in all, a nice stay and loads cheaper than casino hotels.

Room Tip: Request nack of hotel away from the street

This is a former Marriot now part of Red Roof Inn chain and its being remodeled. I imagine the prices will go up once they conclude the work but for now you get a lot for 60 bucks.
Of course we’re not talking about luxury (as most of the furniture is worn out) but the King Suite had two separate rooms (with a LCD TV on each), the standard mini fridge + microwave, a tiny bathroom with sink on the outside and all that not so close nor too distant from Atlantic City’s boardwalk (5 miles).
The staff was friendly and even granted me an early check-in. A great bargain!

First off, many of these reviews are from when this hotel was a Marriott, I think once the property changed hands, the reviews page should have changed with it, I think the overall stars rating is misleading.
On the surface the place looks nice and modern, as it hasn't changed from when it was a Marriott, but if you look closer things are coming apart.
Here were the issues we experienced in our room: some garbage from the previous people still under the bed. The shower curtain was too short for the shower, so all the water went all over. There was no soap dish for the soap, so you had to leave the bar on the counter top. The closet door track was broken so the doors swung all over the place. The toilet looked like it hadn't been scrubbed in a long time, you also had to hold the handle down during the entire flush cycle for it to actually flush.
The good: A/C worked, micro & fridge were nice, staff was pleasant and price was great.

If we are in the area I would consider staying again as overall it was clean enough, cheap, and close to the airport. A little maintenance would go a long way.

This hotel had great service. It is a 10 minute drive to the casino and outlet shopping. The rooms are okay but nothing special. It is clean and will do if you are staying for only a few nights. You can bring pets which was great. The breakfast in the morning is not great. It is mostly cold food and the line for waffles can be very long. The pool is a bit small but good for kids. The Wifi was free. Overall, this is a good hotel for it's price.

The hotel was a non smoking hotel and smelled very nice!. It was undergoing renovation, but there was no noise from the workers replacing hallway carpeting and other rooms beyond ours. The room was big, clean, very comfy bed and pillows and had a nice view of the boardwalk area. Each room has a micro and fridge. Breakfast was decent. Parking was plentiful and there was a nice pool, but we did not use it--too cold and rainy! This hotel was an easy 10 minute drive to the casino areas. Only negative were a slow moving elevator and a slow draining tub; however when I let the desk clerk know about the tub when we checked out she called someone right away. This beat a $200 a night casino room.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the back have a nicer view.

We had stayed at a Red Roof before and new that while inexpensive, we hoped the experience would be agood as well. We were going to a family reunion in Brigantine, and this hotel is very close to both Atlantic City and Brigantine for about a 1/3 of the price! The hotel lobby was very nice -- fairly modern and well decorated. We had a double room and it was also very nice as well. Had a fridge and microwave, which is great. The room was very clean as was the bathroom and completely odor free. The main problem we experienced was with the air conditioner, which would come on very strong and then turn off and stay off for a while before turning itself back on. This made sleeping uncomfortable because the room temperature would go from cold to warm so we were taking blankets off and on all night. The air conditioner was also very loud when it was on, but we preferred that to the temperature change. My husband is an HVAC specialist and even he couldn't figure out how to make it work. Other than that, the price was good and the room was clean and smoke-free, so we were happy. We did not get any maid service on Sunday evening and had to call down for towels, which they left on our door knob instead of coming in and did not make the beds, empty trash, replace soap, etc. Mediocre continental breakfast -- we ate out instead. Pool is very small. But all in all, I would recommend a short stay here if you are looking to save some money.

Unable to find a room in AC for less than $200 for Saturday night, we booked this room. It was a few months out and I thought I'd be able to scoop up,a deal and cancel this room. No way! So off we went. The hotel is easy to find and very convienent to AC, a short ten minute drive. Parking was free, unlike most others. We were able to park close to the building every time. The lot appeared to be safe and well lit. Check in was fast and easy. When we got to our room, there was a cig. Smoke smell in our non-smoking room. Back down to the front desk who were happy to change our room. The young man was also fielding a call so a young lady came right out to offer back up. The next room smelled clean like soap. The room was standard, a/c worked fine, towels were without stain or smell. There were 2 sets of towels and only 1 shampoo ( no conditioner, lotion). Coffee pot, cups, etc. and a clean fridge available. The sink was cracked with a small hole in it, but worked fine. The closet door was hard to move so we left it open. The view is of a Home Depot, but look beyond and it is a pretty view of AC and marshlands. The ice machine on our floor was broken, with a repairman trying to fix it. Unsuccessful, he smiled and apologized. Housekeeping staff and supervisors all smiled and wished us a good stay. Pretzels someone dropped on the hallway rug were gone the next morning. Breakfast was ready for its 7 am start. The fellow prepping it was friendly and kindly asked early birds to wait, but made sure coffee was ready for them and thanked them for waiting. At 7am there were make your own waffles, bagels, toast, blueberry muffins, oranges, bananas, 3 types of cold cereal, coffee, tea, and 3 juices. Staff was available to refill and clean tables. My husband went at 8:45 and there were still all of those options. The wait was never too long. It was quiet with no hallway noise at night. We didn't use the pool, but others were swimming. It was small but looked clean. Check out was a breeze.

Room Tip: Ask for a. Room in the back with a view of Atlantic City skyline.
