“Great place to stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 November 2013

We stayed here based on the reviews on trip advisor. All the great reviews were true. We were picked up at the airport by a driver from the hotel. The outside is not fancy but entering the gate was like entering a beautiful oasis. All of the staff does hospitality so well. They are friendly and helpful making sure our needs were met before we realized we would need something. They even brought a preset alarm clock to our room so that we would be up in time to go to the sunrise at Angkor Wat. The tuk tuk driver provided by the hotel was a great plus. No haggeling involved like at tuk tuk stands and available from 5am to 10pm. He was a safe driver and always there when we arranged a time to leave the hotel or meet him when we were out to go back to the hotel The room was clean and spacious. Television and Internet had good service. We ate at the hotel restaurant because we were concerned about the safety of the food at other places. The food was very good. It was an outdoor restaurant which was fun. We booked an English speaking guide through the hotel. He was very good, told great stories about the temples and took some good pictures of us at the temples. My advice is to book a guide. It is well worth the money. Also try the massages at the spa at the hotel. As our plane did not leave until 5:15 pm we had massages and the staff made sure we were comfortable until it was time to leave for the airport. Please remember to tip the staff. They help make this hotel exceptional and I hope to be able to stay here again. Next time I will also bring my swimsuit so I can swim in the beautiful pool.

My wife and I stayed at the Pavillion D'Orient for 5 nights in late October and agreed it was one of our favorite hotels anywhere! We only decided to visit Cambodia the week before, changing our travel itinerary at the last moment due to concerns over weather conditions in Sydney. So we took the plunge relied upon Trip Advisor and booked the Pavillion D'Orient in Siem Reap and could not have been happier.
The greeting at the hotel was very friendly and welcoming and set the tone for the rest of the stay. The staff were excellent, very helpful and accommodating throughout our stay, from the front desk staff to the restaurant staff and including everyone working there - room servicing staff and even the gardeners were pleasant and made us feel at home.
As others have said the breakfast is sourced from local produce and is a great start to the day. I would also add that we had dinner in the hotel one night and the chicken and coconut curry was one of the best I have ever had!
We asked the hotel to arrange for an English speaking guide to the temples and we were lucky enough to get Mr Vanny. His excitement and interests in the temples is infectious and he knows the best places to take photographs and explains all the nuances about the subject matter and described the stories that the temples depict before we even got to the site so it was so much easier to understand what we were seeing. I highly recommend him to other travelers, we used him for three days and got so much more from our temple visits than we would have without him.
Finally as others have said the fact that the hotel provides you with a dedicated tuk-tuk driver for your stay is a great bonus. Our driver Mr Bunthong (Thong) was excellent. The hotel is about 10 minutes by tuk-tuk from "downtown", which actually turns out to be an advantage. It is close enough to be easily accessible and yet the hotel is much quieter than it would be I town and you can relax around one of the two infinity pools.
We had the hotel make reservations for us at two local restaurants Touiche (Khmer cuisine) and Dakshins (Indian Cuisine) near the Old Market. Both were excellent and we were really impressed with Thong's ability to get his tuk-tuk to Touiche, it is down a really bumpy and pot holed path but so worthwhile. Definitely worth the trip.
Overall an excellent stay - great rooms and personnel - highly recommended!

This is a lovely boutique hotel. Though relatively new, its decor gives it a lot of old world charm. The staff are exceedingly friendly and helpful. The room rate includes the use of a tuk tuk for the day, which is great! And a good breakfast. Our room was very comfortable. You're also given the choice of two swimming pools - we preferred the smaller one out the back that our room overlooked (through filtering palm fronds. If we were heading back to Siem Reap we'd stay here again for sure.

Picked this hotel because of all of Trip Advisor reviews and it did not disappoint one bit. This is not a 4 or 5 star hotel, but it was absolutely perfect for our trip.

Room- Nice and clean room. AC worked great. Mosquito Net over the bed. We had a small balcony but there was not a view so we didn't really sit outside very much.

Hotel- Nice and CHEAP spa which we visited each day for massages. our room rate even came with one free massage. There was a pool as well but we were so busy visiting all the temples that we didn't spend too much time hanging out at hotel.

Food- We had breakfast included in our room rate each day. Food was great. Loved the watermelon jam!

Service- the Service was top notch from the moment we walked in to hotel to when we left. We loved Charlie who was one of the main managers there. He was always all smiles. When we arrived they had a bottle of wine and a note card congratulated us on our marriage.

Location- We had our own tuk tuk driver the entire time that met us early in the AM to catch the sunrises over the temples and we never had any issues with him picking us up on time and he was always ready and waiting when we finished up at each stop. The hotel is located about a 10 minute tuk tuk ride to the main town where all of the restaurants and bars where located.

I highly recommend this hotel! Thank you to all trip advisor reviews that led me to it!!!

We stayed here for 5 nights and found it difficult to fault any aspect of this hotel. Peaceful location, lovely rooms, great pools, good food, excellent staff and very good tuktuk driver. If this is no 2 in Siem Reap no 1 must be amazing.

Room Tip: We were in room 19 on the first floor overlooking one of the pools and it was great

The rooms (I stayed in one but saw three) were well-decorated, spacious, and spotless.

Breakfast was excellent, poolside cocktails cheap, and the pools themselves were beautiful (and a welcome respite from the heat).

Most of all, outstanding staff! Very welcoming, and helpful arranging drivers, making suggestions, and with any/all questions we had. We were sad to leave!
