“Lives up to the praise!”
Reviewed 3 March 2014

Lovely welcome and briefing. Beautiful grounds. Relaxing pool. Airy big rooms where every detail has been considered. Good food in the restaurant, good drinks too. Staff couldn't be nicer. Our tuk-tuk driver was also great - patient, easygoing, safe driver and had some good knowledge about the sites (though hire a guide if you want a full tour ). We had an excellent weekend and the thoughtful quality of Pavillon d'Orient played a significant role.

Room Tip: The rooms in the new buildings are large and lovely.

It's difficult to add to all the positive reviews already written except to say it's all true! From our first email for information to the time we left after 3 days, we received immediate and thoughtful attention. This is a small hotel with personal service and many, many smiles...

Visited Siem Reap in mid-February and stayed at Pavillon d’Orient for three nights. The place is worth a praise. We had a family suite (two adults and two children) which worked us fine. The room offers enough space and two separate bathrooms and toilets provide good flexibility and a large balcony is a significant plus.

The room rate includes a tuk-tuk for the whole stay. We used it from the very morning (at 5am) to see the sun rise at Angkor Wat to late evening (9pm) to get back from dinner at pub street (area). Our driver was a nice young man that spoke good English.

Facilities are clean and staff extremely helpful and friendly. Highly recommended!

Staff are so helpful. Great breakfast. Quiet location. Clean and good standards throughout. I would strongly recommend. Excellent driver provided and included to see local sites. Restaurant food good. Lovely breakfast. All the little details, fan on balcony, mosquito coil, fruit in room, a nightly little story and a gift when we left wonderful.

this is truly a very nice hotel. you can not rate it by stars, but by the atmosphere and service it provides. the hotel is located outside siem reap, it is not a big chain hotel, but rather a special and unique hotel and it provides its guests with everything they need and creates a warm friendly feeling. the rooms are very clean, the pools are nice, and every request you have, the staff is there to help. The guest relations manager, Claudia greets every guest with a smile and lots of useful information. the free tuk tuk service is very good as you get a knowledgeable and polite tuk tuk driver who can show you around. We were sad to leave and has soon as we came home sent a personal thank you note to the hotel.

The hotel does not have a lot of 'kerb appeal'. It's entrance is a gate in a wall on an unremarkable street in Siem Reap. However once inside it is a green oasis of shady palms and immaculate gardens. The reception area is open plan as is the restaurant and there are two large swimming pools. We were in the old part of the complex which had a touch of faded grandeur about it but the room was large , comfortable and spotlessly clean. We also had a large shady balcony complete with comfortable basket chairs. One huge bonus of booking direct with the hotel was that we were allocated, free of charge, a personal tuk tuk and driver for the whole of our eight day stay. He was at our beck and call from early morning until late. As the hotel is situated in a quieter part of the town some 10 minutes from the centre this was a great facility. The staff were friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our stay immensely.

We stayed here for 4 nights in Jan. Pickup from hotel and check in as quick and easy, staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is a bit outside the city. It took about 30 minutes from the airport, which was fine. However, the distance from the main part of the city and the temples can become tiring in the hot and dusty weather. If u plan to stay out the whole day and only make one trip back at the end of the day its fine, however, it takes about 40minutes or longer by tuk-tuk from the temples back to the hotel. The tuk-tuk was included in the price of room.

The hotel itself is nicely decorated. Green and quite clean. There are 2 great pools to chose from as well. The rooms were clean and spotless. I wouldnt say its a 4 or 5 star hotel, but the effort has been made. When booking the room we were not told that there are 2 different sides of the hotel. One is the older side and one is more modern and spacious. We only figured that out after our first night there as in the older rooms, the shower etc was not the best. We were moved to the "new" rooms very quickly and were even given a discount ( yes there is a price difference).

The breakfast was fantastic, a lot of choice, fresh ingredients, try the pain perdu! Fresh juices, yogurt etc. the staff is so very nice and always smiling no matter what time of the day it is.

We used our free 30 minute massage voucher as well, which was a nice touch and the massages were amazing!

Room Tip: Ask to stay in the newer part of the hotel.
