This is the best hotel we stayed in during our 3 weeks in Laos/Cambodia. The staff, especially on reception/client relations deserve a special mention. Good English, good knowledge of local restaurants etc, and the only place I been to where they proactively loan you a good quality guidebook to all the local historical sites to keep until you leave.

The rooms are true oriental luxury (but without going over the top), the gardens are lush and two pools just right for a hotel this size. The food is great too.

The only downside is that it's well outside town, and the immediate surroundings are a main road and some workshops, so you need a tuk tuk to go anywhere. It takes about 10 mins to get into the centre, and the hotel has at least one of its "own" tuk tuk drivers, who's a great guy who speaks some English.
The upside is that it's a slightly shorter distance to the main historical sites.

We really enjoyed our time in Siem Reap and no small part to the wonderful staff and amenities at the Pavillion...hotel. The staff was gracious and helpful at all times. The free massage was lovely as well as the other massages that I had. The two pools were wonderful for my teenage children. Just enough shade in the afternoon to not have to use sunscreen all the time (My kids are fair!) The food as the restaurant was good and breakfast was lovely. My favorite part were the family rooms. Big room with two bathrooms, but we were all together. Plenty of space. The hotel is not too big, just enough space for everyone. Even staying at very nice 5 star hotels, I enjoyed my stay here the most. We definitely want to come back!

Room Tip: The family rooms are great. Our room was on the 2nd floor by the pool, but the wall are thick. You d...

Like the secret garden, you go through a hole in the wall and immediately enter an oasis of calm.

Loved it the moment we arrived. The welcome we received was outstanding. Cold drink and a full explanation of everything the hotel had to offer.

The room was gorgeous , clean and spacious. The fairy tale that arrived each night on the bed was a lovely touch.

The infinity pool was welcome after a day in the heat as was the 2 hour massage I had one afternoon which cost £12.00.

Finally a special mention to the breakfast girls who met you with massive smiles and in their broken English could not do enough to assist you.

Already looking for a way to return as soon as possible.

Thank you, you made our holiday.

Room Tip: We had a deluxe room which had a balcony overlooking the garden.

What an absolute GEM. initial view you think it's a bungalow then you walk through the gate and it all opens up before your eyes. We stayed there for 5 nights earlier this month and couldn't have wished for better. From the minute we arrived we knew we were going to enjoy staying there.

We stayed in the old part of the hotel and it great. Our own little balcony and plenty of space in the room itself. The complementary bowl of fresh fruit (daily) was a very nice touch. Breakfast is available all day which is great and means that an early start to visit the temples before it gets too hot or too crowded, you can enjoy breakfast at acreasonable time of around 11AM and then rest up in the heat of the day by one of the two pools.

All the hotel staff were very helpful, curteous and polite and provided a level of service well above what you would expect at a 5 star hotel. The food was very good and plenty of choice at all meals.

The Tuk Tuk provided for each room on a complementary basis was a Definately perk and Vishna our driver/guide was great even if we did ask for him at 5.30 most mornings. Always had scale on his face and good suggestions to help us plan our visits.

A 10 minute Tuk Tuk ride to the centre of town means plenty of opportunities to visit the market for shopping as well as a plentiful supply of eating houses and bars.

All in all I can't fault the Pavillion d'Orient and would highly recommend it. Great value and we'll priced. If you are going to Siem Reap you need to try it. It deserves it's #2 position on the tripadvisor site.

We have been there for 3 days and this is a perfect place.
Frontdesk nice and willing to help in your restaurants booking and day to day questions.
Charming pool.
Nice room with balcony, perfect to have a drink there after dinner. By the way, drinks are sold a very gentle way, 3 USD for a generous glass of whiskey
Other advantage, the breakfast that you can have all day long (!) and which is really good and nicely served.
Do not hesitate to get there if you get to Siem Reap, enjoyable stay guaranteed.

We had a great stay at this hotel two years ago, so decided to stay here again and it was evan better, they now have two new buildings over looking a bigger pool. We stayed in the new rooms which are bigger and have a seperate shower and toilet, nicely decorated and are very nice rooms.
The staff are very friendly and helpful, a tut tut is included in the cost of the hotel from dawn untill 10pm, our driver was very helpfull as to seeing the temples and as we had a week to look at the temples we did not need to rush and got to enjoy the pools at the hotel. The restuarant was also very good for breakfast, lunch and dinner and not expensive. It is a ten minute drive from town but is not an inconvience as you have the use of the tut tut. The hotel also transfers to and from the airport which is also included in the cost of the hotel.

Room Tip: Stay in the new rooms and have an upstairs room, so no noise above the room.

Pavillon d'Orient Boutique is a small hotel, looks like a very big bungalow, equipped with 2 swimming pools, a very good spa, and excellent restaurant. We, a family of 3, visited Siam Reap between 8th to 10th November 2013 and stayed at this hotel for 2 nights.

Hotel:The hotel arranged for airport transfers, and also gives a Tuk Tuk for visiting the tourists sites in the city. The tuk tuk driver usually doubles as a guide as they are fairly knowledgeable, about which site is which, as per the book, shortest routes between the temples, which way to go inside the temple to avoid crowd, though may not be a good English speaker.
The staff is attentive, has good knowledge of the opening and closing timings, the distances, prices, when will we get the tickets, types of tickets, when should we visit places to avoid crowd etc. The hotel gives us the famous book written on Angkor Wat as our guide book, which is very very helpful for the tourist to plan the itinerary within the limited time.
Hotel rooms are comfortable, equipped with TV, mosquito nets, Fan and AC. Type of bed depends on the selection of the room.
The Spa is not very expensive, and surely worth a take after a tiring day at Angkor Wat.
The swimming pools are well equipped and are open till late so that we can enjoy there after we come back from all the visits.

Apsara Dance show and Dinner: The hotel also books for Apsara Dance show and dinner. The dance show is very good and the dinner, dining arrangement all are excellent, Even for vegetarian travelers like us, the dinner had vegetarian options. The hosts at Apsara Dance indulged our 7 year old fussy eater with small portion sized vegetarian meal and kids love that kind of special treatment!

Site-seeing:
For visiting Angkor Wat temple site and other sites, tuk tuk is of great help, walking is out of question, as it is we need to walk while we see the temples from inside, when tuk tuk comes as a great relief. Also since it is arranged by the hotel, we do not need to haggle for the same.

Suggested Itinerary: When you reach Siam Reap, go for Apsara Dance and Dinner the first night. Next Day (day 2) go for Angkor Wat temples at 5 am in the morning, and spend rest of the day sight seeing all the associated temples. That night go for the spa. On day 3 - visit remaining temples, go for Bantey Sri and floating village and enjoy swimming pool after coming back.
This we way we can cover Siam Reap to the fullest, enjoy the hotel facilities, relax and by spending only 3 nights.
We did not stay the third night and skipped floating village.
