“Smiles all round!”
Reviewed 21 April 2014

Outstanding! Some of the friendliest and kindest staff I have ever encountered. The small touches such as fruit and wine waiting in the room on arrival, bedtime Cambodian stories on the pillow each night on our return from a night out and handmade scarves and beautiful temple pins on departure all made this a stay to remember. The staff really make this hotel and were always smiling. Nothing is too much of an effort. The breakfasts were plentiful and the lunch/dinner options were good and so cheap! It was obvious that other guests felt the same about this hotel as most people stayed and dined at night in the hotel! Lovely homely feel and great atmosphere-can't recommend highly enough!!!

We stayed 5 nights and we loved it, during the morning until 2:30 PM we went to the temples and in the afternoon we stayed at that fantastic pool that helped us to re-energize to the next day. The room was great with a fantastic view to the swimming pool and everything in the room was fantastic (the fruits in the room were a delight). The gardens of the hotel were very well kept improving definitly the relaxing experience that we had in the afternoons at the hotel.

The staff at the hotel were superb, and always available to help us and very polite.

Claudia was fantastic and extremely helpful in the way that she prepared and organized the trips to the temples to the local markets and restaurants. Claudia was key to the wonderful and perfect vacations that we had in Cambodia.

The tuk tuk driver arranged by the hotel was perfect. He was very polite with a very good english and always on schedule, with him we didn't worry about anything in touring to the temples and in Siem Reap, contributing also to the perfect vacations we had.

The temple guide was great and very knowledgeable of the khmer culture and we learned a lot with him about the golden age of the Khmer Empire that was represented by the temples he showed us. His English was great.

An absolutely perfect 3-day stay was marred only slightly by the marginal aircon in our room (junior suite). It was our fault for not reporting it sooner to the management as I am sure they would have taken care of it or moved us to another room. This property fully deserves the high ratings that it has. We took the 3-day deal which includes an aircon car (Toyota Camry) and driver. That is an excellent deal to avoid very hot and dusty trips in a tuk tuk, and our driver was punctual and patient!

Room Tip: second floor rooms are quieter

This place is brilliant! It's a little out of the main town, which actually works in its favour as you can get into the main hubbub of restaurants and bars around Pub Street pretty easily (about 10 mins by tuk tuk), but then back out again for a more relaxed experience!

The rooms are really lovely - spacious, very clean and with a great shower. The garden and grounds are beautiful and well kept. The swimming pools are a definite draw after a day of temple touring!

The breakfast is really good - very tasty with a good range of choices. The main menu is also great, with a good choice of both Khmer and western food.

But the main plus point of this place is the service. The staff are amazingly friendly, helpful and polite! They were always smiling and welcoming! The hotel arranges for tuk tuk drivers as part of the room rate - ours was fab! Always on time, polite and friendly.

Highly recommended!

It was a real pleasure to spend 4 nights at the beginning of April at this wonderful hotel. My wife and I spent the first 2 nights in a de luxe room and our last 2 nights in a very spacious and comfortable junior suite. Delightful cheerful staff in reception and restaurant areas added greatly to the enjoyment. A special mention must also go to "Mr Adam" our Tuk Tuk driver who delivered a first class service. It would be extremely hard to find a better place to enjoy your stay in Siem Reap.

Room Tip: Worth the extra for a junior suite to enable you to have more space and enjoy the views of the pool...

We stayed here 4 nights in April.

A very well managed hotel. Service was great. They looked for a flight to Saigon, booked it and we only had to pay at check out. As the flight was in late afternoon, we could have a check out just before leaving. They organized free transport to the airport.

Overall the staff is very helpfull and extremely friendly.

Location of the hotel is just a little outside Siem Reap. Ideal for us as you got a free tuktuk at your service.

The building is situated between two garages, so between 9 and 5 you can have some noise when you lay next to one of the two beautiful swimming pools. As the hotel is an old mansion, you shouldn't expect a spic and span design interior. Rooms are spacious, very clean and got all you need.

Breakfast was the best we had during the 2 weeks we spent in Vietnam and Cambodia. Only a pity our last breakfast was spoiled by smokers as the area is not non-smoking.

Overall we got great value for money and would surely advice the hotel to friends if they don't mind the small critical notes mentioned above.

We stayed at the Pavillion d'Orient for 2 nights. The staff was very friendly and helpful when making bookings. Wanted to book the family room, but was full and was offered the junior suite instead with 1 King and 2 extra beds and private balcony which was very comfortable.

We took the top-up option of a car instead of the tuk tuk which brought us around Angkor complex and Tonle Sap lake and around town. Very convenient and comfortable... away from the heat. Although the hotel's location is not as central (~10min ride from french quarters), it had the benefit of being in a nice quiet neighbourhood.

Breakfast choices were very good both local and western. The 2 pools were very refreshing after a long hot day around the temples.

Will definitely stay when in Siem Reap!!
