We stayed 4 days and wish we had more! Fantastic service by all the staff - always smiling and willing to accomodate any requests. The manager, Claudia, was really amazing with her personalized service - her suggested itineraries and restaurants were what made our Siem Reap vacation perfect.

The junior suite room in the new wing was great for us since we had an extra bed there for our 8 year old son. The room amenities were outstanding especially since this is a small hotel.

The breakfast was great too - with delicious Cambodian options such as the rice soup and indulgent western options such as the french toast.

The free tuk tuk provided in our package was super - the driver, Mr. Chok, was always punctual, spoke decent english, and a very nice man! Guides organized by the hotel, especially Mr. Vanni were excellent - very knowledgebale and made our tours of the temples so interesting.

The two pools were so refreshing in the hot afternoons. Lunch and dinner options were great too.

If you are lucky enough to stay at this hotel in Siem Reap, don't miss the opportunity! We have stayed at some fantastic hotels, including luxury hotels, and would rate this charming small hotel as one of the best ever! Our son said it best in what he wrote in the feedback form for the hotel: "This hotel is perfect!".

Room Tip: The Junior Suites in the new wing on the higher floor overlooking the pool are the best if you have a kid with you - ask for them!

My husband and I booked this hotel based on Trip Advisor reviews. I must say we were not disappointed at all. If you like intimate hotels with character, this is the place for you. However, if you want a hotel that is close to where the action is, then this may not be your cup-of-tea. You need to travel about 15 minutes by "tuktuk" to get to the market. It didn't worry us at all since we wanted a place that was far from the madding crowd.
The place is charming and the service is friendly and quite proactive. Upon check-in, we were asked by the front guest person what time our return flight was and without having to ask for a late checkout, we were granted one automatically.
The room charge included free transfer service to and from the airport, and "tuktuk" service if you wanted to go to the market. They also arranged for a very reasonably priced car service for our temple visit, along with an English-speaking guide. After the tiring temple visit, we also had a massage in the hotel which cost about $10 per person for an hour - not bad at all!
The hotel has two pools which were never crowded - although this could also have been a factor of the time of year that we were there. Apparently, April is not peak season.
We did have a few snags during our stay but the staff attended to them quite promptly.
There were also these nice little touches like the Cambodian folk tales that you would find on your pillow at night and the chocolates and cards that they handed out at Easter. The Pavillon d'Orient was certainly a home away from home.

Room Tip: We got Room 7 on the second floor. It was a nice, quiet corner room concealed by foliage. The downside is that there are no elevators so if you have trouble with steps, ask for a ground floor room.

Outstanding! Some of the friendliest and kindest staff I have ever encountered. The small touches such as fruit and wine waiting in the room on arrival, bedtime Cambodian stories on the pillow each night on our return from a night out and handmade scarves and beautiful temple pins on departure all made this a stay to remember. The staff really make this hotel and were always smiling. Nothing is too much of an effort. The breakfasts were plentiful and the lunch/dinner options were good and so cheap! It was obvious that other guests felt the same about this hotel as most people stayed and dined at night in the hotel! Lovely homely feel and great atmosphere-can't recommend highly enough!!!

We stayed 5 nights and we loved it, during the morning until 2:30 PM we went to the temples and in the afternoon we stayed at that fantastic pool that helped us to re-energize to the next day. The room was great with a fantastic view to the swimming pool and everything in the room was fantastic (the fruits in the room were a delight). The gardens of the hotel were very well kept improving definitly the relaxing experience that we had in the afternoons at the hotel.

The staff at the hotel were superb, and always available to help us and very polite.

Claudia was fantastic and extremely helpful in the way that she prepared and organized the trips to the temples to the local markets and restaurants. Claudia was key to the wonderful and perfect vacations that we had in Cambodia.

The tuk tuk driver arranged by the hotel was perfect. He was very polite with a very good english and always on schedule, with him we didn't worry about anything in touring to the temples and in Siem Reap, contributing also to the perfect vacations we had.

The temple guide was great and very knowledgeable of the khmer culture and we learned a lot with him about the golden age of the Khmer Empire that was represented by the temples he showed us. His English was great.

An absolutely perfect 3-day stay was marred only slightly by the marginal aircon in our room (junior suite). It was our fault for not reporting it sooner to the management as I am sure they would have taken care of it or moved us to another room. This property fully deserves the high ratings that it has. We took the 3-day deal which includes an aircon car (Toyota Camry) and driver. That is an excellent deal to avoid very hot and dusty trips in a tuk tuk, and our driver was punctual and patient!

Room Tip: second floor rooms are quieter
