We have been so pleased with our stay so wanted to make sure we left a review on tripadvisor before returning to busy lives back home -- we are still at this lovely hotel on the last night of our 4d3n stay. The service is unparalleled; we were greeted with smiles from the second our driver (arranged by the hotel free of charge) met us at the airport. Upon check-in, again more smiles and we received notes on visiting the temples (ticket prices for Angkor National Park, cost(s) to hire a privates guide, etc), weather forecast for our stay, local customs/useful Khmer phrase and even a book on Angkor temples. Once in the room, we noticed a restaurant recommendation list, bedtime story on the bed (different one each night) and a fruit basket plus a cutting knife and plates.

Room rates offered by the hotels in Siem Reap commonly include a private tuk tuk driver. This is super convenient because it eliminates the need to haggle with and explain the hotel's location to drivers for each ride. That said, I am pretty sure not all drivers are as nice and hospitable as our driver Mr. Moy. I am also certain that other hotels can also arrange private tour guides for their guests. Our local tour guide Vanny, also arranged by Pavillon d'Orient, spoke excellent English and was extremely knowledgeable about the temples, history of Cambodia, Hindu mythology and religions over the past two days we spent with him. When touring various temples, we noticed several other private tour guides who were not energetic or informative at all. Meanwhile, we learned so much with Vanny, and it was so apparent that he is genuinely passionate about his country and the history and future of the temples.

The hotel's standard items on our checklist were also nice - good location, bottled water, clean rooms, well maintained pools, good a/c, delicious/ generous portion of breakfast (offered through 10pm at night to accommodate guests who may wish to leave early for the temple visit and miss the typical breakfast hour). Wifi is everywhere on the premise but a bit slower than Hong Kong. Location is close enough to the Angkor National Park but not in the middle of noisy, hectic downtown.

I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Siem Reap.

PS weather the past few days has been quite pleasant. Occasional downpours lasted 10-20 mins and actually cleared the air. Temples also look nice with some vegetation and water in the moats. Tuk tuks are well equipped to transport during the rain.

We stayed at Pavillon d'Orient to visit the temples of Angkor Wat. When we arrived, we were immediately met with a great driver, wonderful service and a beautiful room. They arranged everything for us - a driver to the temples, a private guide, transportation to and from the airport and the downtown area. The rooms are lovely, the pool is beautiful, the included! breakfast is perfect. We visited the spa (extremely well priced!) and it was awesome. They were very accommodating and allowed us to extend our checkout for another day at the temples. The service is really why I am rating this five stars - it is wonderful. I would highly recommend our driver, Mr. Lori and our guide Sothit. The hotel set them both up.

Room Tip: We had a room with a balcony overlooking the hotel

Not the Sheraton or Sofitel, but if you want an enjoyable break with delightful staff and a clean, large and very comfortable room - with the most enormous bed!!! - th
is is the place. Our room overlooked one of the pools - a welcome spot to relax and cool off after a morning of temple viewing. The breakfast was all you could ask for, room service was fast and very cheap, and an hour massage was $10. Wi-fi was fast and reliable - we watched the 3rd State of Origin direct!! The most amazing plus for this hotel was the provision of our own tuk-tuk and driver! He took us out to the temples and waited for us and ferried us back and forth into town to partake in the pleasures of Pub Street and the markets. Thoroughly recommended!

Just finished a 5 day visit at the Pavillon D'Orient and cannot say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay. From being met at the airport, to the departure we were well looked after every step of the way.

If you want a relaxing base from which to explore Siem Reap and the temples then this is a hotel for you. As an example we were provided with a Tuk Tuk driver for our entire stay, which allowed us to roam freely and at our speed. Our driver was kind, courteous and above all keen to make sure we enjoyed our stay.

Highly recommended!

Room Tip: We were a family a 4 and used a Junior Suite. Bigger families should aim for the Family Suite.

This hotel is very good value for money and the staff are very helpful and friendly. Our room was clean and had everything that we needed. The tuk tuk driver was wonderful and always had a smile. The hotel arranged a guide for us for 2 days to see the temples. Would recommend having a private guide as it really helps you to understand what you are seeing. Breakfast was good and we had dinner at the hotel which was fine. This is definitely not a luxury hotel, we would rate it a three star shining brightly.
