Pavillon d'Orient Boutique-Hotel
Ranked #32 of 374 Hotels in Siem Reap
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 26 November 2009

After reading reviews in TripAdvisor, we decided to book our stay in Siem Reap at Pavillon d'Orient, and we're so glad we did. Although we might have like being closer to the action of downtown, we couldn't have asked for a nicer place to stay. It was the best accommodations in our month-long trip to Southeast Asia. The garden setting was magical, with the open-air lobby and restaurant and beautiful water-fall-edged swimming pool and koi pond. The staff was amazing - always at the ready to help. They even offered cold water to me while I was sitting at the (free) computer. Free use of a tuk-tuk is offered either for the evening or for all day, depending on the time of year (I think), so going into town in the evening was not a problem, although we usually ate in the hotel restaurant which served tasty food at a reasonable price all day long. A bountiful breakfast buffet with eggs to order was a great start to the day. Our flight did not leave until evening, and the hotel graciously allowed us the use of a guest room for the entire day (subject, of course, to availability).

We selected this hotel on the basis of its rating on Trip Advisor. This hotel more than met our expectations.

The staff are very efficient and friendly. The service is excellent. There are numerous nice touches which added to the pleasure of our stay eg gifts on departure.

We were particularly impressed with the driver who came as part of the accommodation package Mr Samreath Leang is highly recommended. he is a safe driver, courteous man and very knowledgable. As a result we did not need to hire a guide.

My wife, 2 young kids and I stayed here in November and the hotel is everything the reviews say it is. I was a bit concerned because I could not find any references to this hotel on any other travel site. However, our stay was terriffic. The staff are very friendly and diligent, the room is very tastefully decorated and comfortable, the swimming pool is great and the restaurant, although not the best in Siem Reap, holds its own. In our 3 weeks in Asia, Siem Reap was the best part. Angkor Wat is fantastic but Pavillon d'Orient defintiely made the stay memorable.

A charming boutique hotel. Service was faultless from airport pick up till we left 2 days later. We arrived long before check in time and the hotel was able to provide us with a room to drop our bags and we got straight out in our friendly (and knowledgeable) tuk tuk. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the food was excellent, the staff friendly and polite. The hotel is situated slightly off the beaten track, but with a tuk tuk at your disposal this is no problem. Our stay at the Pavillon was faultless. It complemented the stunning sights of Angkor Wat beautifully.

My husband, his cousin and I stayed here for two nights in November 2009 and were extremely pleased. Sebastien, the manager, arranged for two neighboring rooms for us and a late check-out was allowed for one of the rooms. We greatly appreciated this as it allowed us to fit in a full day of sight-seeing and a shower before heading to the airport. We loved the bed time stories left on our bed each night and the parting gift.

We had an outstanding guide for both days - ask for Vanny if you are looking for an English speaking guide. He was amazingly passionate and knowledgable about the temples.

Not much more to add to the other reviews. Stay here you will not be disaapointed!

Can't really say an awful lot other than the whole package here is amazing, the hotel and rooms are excellent, the staff are fantastic helping us plan all our trips and organising tuk tuk and taxi's for us. i got there in a mood as we were not collected from the airport as arranged and the taxi we used couldn't find the hotel, so my only peice of advise would be to make sure you have the address and little map if you are arranging your own transfers. (they did give us a complementary massage to say sorry which was fab)

An unexpected oasis between hectic Angkor temple visits and chaotic streetscape. My friend and I were expecting our vacation to Cambodia to be interesting but hard core due to the different sights, language, culture, and third world country status, but Pavilion d'Orient made it a pleasant, easy, and worry free stay via its comprehensive services and extremely helpful English speaking staff. Sample services include: pick up/drop off at the airport (inclusive), personal tuk tuk driver access until 10 pm (inclusive), English speaking tour guide (extra), large breakfast (inclusive), swimming pool access (inclusive), massage services (extra), and Apsara dinner dance performance (extra) etc. Free internet access via desktop is also available near the reception desk. The cafe on premise was also very good. There was always someone at the front door so we felt fairly safe. We had a terrific time.

We recommend hiring a tour guide as well as going on excursions to the countryside and outlying temples. We especially liked our certified tour guide, Chantrea Chhoun, who spoke very good English and had plenty of stories to tell about Cambodia's history and culture. Moreover, Chantrea had a good sense of humor so was pleasant company. Do ask for him by name if he is available during your stay. His email address is [--] if you need to contact him directly. Our tuk tuk driver, Samrept, was very patient as he waited on us during all of our excursions including a shopping spree to the vibrant marketplace. Hope you enjoyed your trip as much as we did.
