A small site in comparison with it's more famous neighbours but well worth a visit. a steep climb up to the top but a great view of the temple and its surroundings

This is part of the East Baray temples. You have to take a right after Bantea Kdei and Sra Srang to reach this place. It is a massive multi layered structure. Within the enclosure, there are quite a few small buildings apart from the main pyramid. These buildings are of not much interest as most of them have plain brick facades.
Unless you suffer from vertigo or altophobia or have bad knees, do climb up. The views from the top on all four sides are spectacular. This is the tallest structure in the area and thus you can see the countryside for quite a distance.
There are 5 small temples on the top of the pyramid.
What's interesting is that one of the temples was of Uma, Shiva's consort and another of Laxmi, Vishnu's consort. The outer walls of the temples are nicely decorated and soem of the temples still have the original carved statues. You can still see Brahmi and Varahi.

It was fun especially if you're adventurous and you like to climb and endure some steep steps before reaching a great view :) It was a bit tiring but worth it! The carvings were pretty and intricate as well. Great trip!

Tall and airy, I like Pre Rup for its detailed lintels which are delicate and intricate. The temple itself is worryingly close to falling down in places, so tread with care, but the climb is worth it for the lovely views over the East Baray.

Climbing to the top is difficult as the steps are very big. hence advisable to visit early. Good vantage point for sunset as well. Carry a lot of water as its hot and humid.
