“TWO HOTELS”
Reviewed 9 November 2012

There are two hotels to the Lucky Angkor hotel, the one at the back and the one at the side. Unfortunatley our tour booked the one at the side which was like a down market travel lodge.
The room was clean as was the bed linen but the food was basic bland and not what we expected. Indeed in general Cambodian food was well cooked and prepared by interesting people. The staff were pleasant and assisted where they could but I would not stay there by choice.
The pool and grounds were well maintained and pool towels were provided.

I would go back to cambodia but stay in a better hotel

We booked 3 nights and with arrival they gave us a room in the old wing which are small rooms. It took a lot of talking to get at least 2 nights in the new wing with nice rooms I hope we will have the last night also in the new wing then it is ok with me.

I book a ground package inclusive of tours n hotel rooms in March 2012 for 5 pax ( 3 male+2 female) and we given the top floor .. Excellent view n the rooms are clean . . Both rooms are facing the swimming pool... Good breakfast spread. A warm reception given upon checkin n staff were very friendly and helpful.. Distance from town within 15mins walk.. Tuk tuk ( a must try) for USD2/pax get you anywhere within the town and always standby outside the lobby..( almost 24hours).. Excellent choice for this price.. % caution...there was a BIG lizard 7 inches always along the corridor on the top floor..Dont worry they wont bite.. Sleep was excellent with good A/C... Definitely return to this hotel if i come to Siem Reap..

We spent one night in this hotel while having a tour from Pattaya.

We've planned a trip to Cambodia and read good reviews about Lucky Angkor. But the experience was a bit disappointing. We've been placed in a small building with no balcony (though we were a VIP group of three people). All three beds were set together like a large one and there was no place for a table but since we used the room only for sleeping, it was not big problem.

We enjoyed food enough on breakfast and lunch. We had welcome lunch in a certain restaurant, and dinner for all the groups together at a restaurant with the "Apsara" show. That's where we tried a little bit exotic: coconut milk soup with unripe bananas. We also had some interesting courses the evening. Me personally really enjoyed a sweet-sour soup with shrimp, don't know if it was Thai or Vietnamese. So the dinner and show were very amusing.

The hotel itself is beautiful inside and out in a traditional Asian style and the staff was very friendly. A swimming pool is open till late night which is a big plus and great pleasure after long excursions. There were dry towels on the sunbeds.

Won't write anything about visiting Angkor - you just have to see it by yourself. That was unforgettable. We would really like to come back and see more details and temples of Phnom Penh.

The hotel was just what I was looking for. The price was right and it included breakfast. There was a woman who played a traditional instrument in the Lobby one morning. The pool was welcome respite after visiting Angkor Wat. There were lots of Chinese and some Russians staying in the hotel. I was THE only diner in the hall for dinner one night. I remarked to the waiter how dead quiet it was and he graciously chatted with me for about an hour while I enjoyed my dinner. I didn't have any cambodian stamps and I wanted to post a few cards so the hotel posted them for me @ $1.00 per card. The most common currency used in Cambodia is US dollars or Thai Baht.

We stayed here for our 2012 new year celebration. Our room is clean, comfy and complete with amenities. The bathroom has a tub, h&c shower etc. There is a free tuktuk ride to the hotel from the airport or bus. But they fetched us from another hotel. The free breakfast is buffet style. Not bad for a 4star hotel and on a promo rate. The pool is great and the garden is relaxing. The staff are cheerful and accomodating. The location of the hotel is a bit far from the market and the city center (restos, bar and spas). But there are small stores and restos a few meters away. Overall, a very nice hotel in the middle of Cambodia.

This hotel was a good value last year and a better value this year. The pool bar is now open and the rooms now have free wifi. I was given a room upgrade and stayed in a new room, with a view of the pool, in the back building. The room was very comfortable, with a flat screen TV with 80 channels. The bathroom has a spacious shower and a bathtub. Toiletries, slippers and bathrobes were all provided. The hotel restaurant was offering a discount so I gave room service a try. The menu choices are limited but I was surprised to find the Khmer meals were as good, and the quantity better than Pub street. The pool deserves special mention. It is large enough and is surrounded by lots of flowers, bushes, and trees. Together with a tropical drink from the bar it is very relaxing. You can even sit in the shade with your laptop as the pool has wifi too!
