“Great hotel, great service!”
Reviewed 9 March 2012

I have stayed in Siem Reap several times at other hotels and decided to try the Pacific after reading the reviews. I was not disappointed. The facility is very beautiful and rooms comfortable and well appointed. The pool and deck area are five-star and a great place to relax after a day of touring. The food was excellent as well. But what distinguished this property is the high quality of service from staff . In particular Bopha of the reception staff made our stay very comfortable through her knowledge of the area and suggestions for places to go. She is very pleasant, professional and open, and always ready to provide the assistance we needed in arranging transport, use of the hotel facilities, tours, etc. We would definitely return to the Pacific for the quality of service alone! A drawback is that the hotel is not walking distance to the town center, and a tuk-tuk or shuttle is needed. But having stayed at some of the finest hotels in Hong Kong and Bangkok, I would rate the Pacific right up there.

We stayed in the Pacific Hotel & Spa while visiting the Angkor ruins and absolutely LOVED our stay. Right from the moment you drive into the hotel grounds, it's such a pretty building. The foyer is gorgeous and the pool is heavenly.

Our room was really quite large and very comfortable, compared to most other hotels and resorts we've stayed in. We had a glorious view over the pool, which is very prettily lit up at night. There is free wi-fi access to your room, which is very handy if you're travelling for work. It also works fine down by the pool, if you'd rather work down there ;)

The hotel staff are all exceptionally friendly and helpful at all times. I sent email enquiries prior to arriving and responses were always very prompt. They do offer an airport pick-up and drop-off service. Our driver was Chinvanna. He was incredibly helpful, very friendly and spoke great English. He offered to be our 'personal driver' for the two days we were there. At $30 USD per day for the car AND a driver, we couldn't say no - especially since he was so informative about where to visit, what to look for, what to avoid and where to go next! Excellent.

The breakfast available offers plenty of choice and lovely food. We stayed during Chinese New Year, so we ordered the special "Chinese Banquet" meal they offered for dinner - it was simply stunning and very reasonably priced.

I will definitely be staying here again. The rooms are exceptional value for the prices charged.

Don't forget to ask for Chinvanna to be your driver for your airport pick-up. You won't find a better, more helpful driver and guide during your stay :)

When we stay in Siem Reap for business our organization uses one particular hotel in the city but this trip (for vacation with family) the other hotel was full.  I corresponded with the Manager, Fleming Nelson, and decided to stay at the Pacific.  What a great place!  From the lobby to the pool - amazing!  We had two rooms - a deluxe double room for my in-laws and a deluxe triple room for my family.  The triple room had a large queen bed and two singles!  The double room had a large queen.  The beds were comfortable and I would rank them 8 out of 10 (verses other Cambodian beds). Both rooms had showers and a separate bath tub!  Shower was great!

The only negative - and it was a big one - was the nightly music group that played by the pool.  From 7pm to 10pm (monday - friday).  Wednesday was supposed to be an off night but they were still singing.  Sunday night they had karaoke by the pool that was louder than the singing group.  Suggestion - put the group and karaoke inside the restaurant or just simply turn the speakers down and away from the hotel.  I probably could have asked to move to the road side of the hotel but we were not at the hotel much during the day (and if we were we were at the pool!)

The pool was great - especially for kids!  We spent many of our afternoons around the pool!

If this hotel would tweak their nightly music program (which was not well attended) then this would be one of the best FAMILY hotels in all of Siem Reap!

Thank you to all the staff for their great help during our stay.

RESPONSE from the Manager (I sent this review to the manager and I wanted to include part of the manager's comments too):
"With concern to our Live Entertainment: we are awaiting a new sound system,
(coming from Japan, so custom issues are delaying the arrival), which will
make it more than bearable for any of our in-house guests whether they wish
to listen or not listen to music."

Visited Ankor temples for 3 nights and had a lovely relaxing stay at this hotel. The rooms were really nice and the staff were just so polite and helpful. Great air-con and beautiful surroundings. Yummy buffet breakfast except for the local coffee. The pool was gorgeous and huge. Poolside lunch service also. Only negative is that it is a $6 Tuk Tuk ride into the centre of town and back. Ideally it would be nice if it was more central but well outweighed by the ambience of the hotel. Would recommend to anyone. Look for good deals on internet sites.

Room Tip: Overlooking the pool is nice.

A big beautiful pool in a nice setting to refresh in the heat. Nice spa, good massages. Nice breakfast with plenty to choose from. Wifi (some problems). Nice rooms with working A/C. Some problems with the shower. Many TV channels. OK restaurant, you can even have dinner by the pool. The service is excellent. It is close to the airport but it is far from the city.

Room Tip: Pool view, higher floors

Dear Travelers of Barcelona,
Thank you for your review and thank you for choosing Pacific Hotel & Spa as you preferred vacation accommodation while you were in Siem Reap.

We are more than pleased you found your stay at Pacific Hotel & Spa to your satisfaction.

But please allow me to address the less positives which you had encountered during your stay:

1. WIFI: We are having the fastest WIFI access in Siem Reap, however and very unfortunately, we are still very much depending on our service provider. But as I am confident you have experienced, 98% of the time, our WIFI signal is reliable and consistent. Nevertheless, my apologies for the inconvenience caused.

2: Shower: I am unfortunately not so familiar with the problem you have experienced, however, we are constantly upgrading our rooms. However, it is not an excuse that you had problem with the shower, should you have the time and desire to assist us in solving a potential overlooked problem, please contact me though below email and or mobile, such any future discomfort can be avoided for our future Guests. Any and all efforts to the subject matter is highly appreciated. Kindly accept my apologetic sincerity for the trouble(s) with the shower.

3: Location: I really can't do much about our location, however, as mentioned in an earlier Guest Feedback here on Tripadvisor, we are really not far from town as well as we are providing drop-off and pick-up at 2 places in downtown Siem Reap.
Yet again, I must apologize for the trouble of the distance to and from town proper Siem Reap.

We are looking forward to be exceeding and pleasing your expectations on your next visit to Siem Reap in the Kingdom of Culture, Nature and Wondersss.

Should you, our past, present and future Guests have any questions and or concerns, please feel free to contact me at any time through:

Staff was friendly and courteous. Pick up service from and to airport was reliable and email queries handled efficiently (prompt). Check-in and out was fast. Clean and spacious room but no dim light made reading difficult; TV - more than 80 channels but not well-positioned. Nice hotel to laze but not within walking distance from city centre (abt 5km). Great to have unlimited wireless internet access from room.

Dear Mrs. J. Tan,
Thank you for your review and thank you for choosing Pacific Hotel & Spa as you preferred vacation accommodation while you were in Siem Reap.

Your comment pertaining to our TV-Channels has been acted on and we are in the process of aligning all Channels per category: Sports, News, Movies etc.

For our location, we have recently implemented a shuttle service which will drop-off our Guests at downtown Siem Reap, a few minutes drive from Pacific Hotel. Further, we are providing pick-up as well.

You review is of great inspiration to my team and during your second visit to Pacific Hotel we will surely exceed your expectations...again.

We stayed 6 nights in this hotel and it was fantastic, the rooms were great, the breakfast very tasty and the staff so friendly and helpful. We mainly dealt with staff member "Soudy" who went out of his way to help us, advise us and suggest places to see, he also arranged transport..well done and thank you Soudy!!!!! All the staff we encounted spoke "english" and we were always greeted with a smile and greeting. The management of PH&S should be very proud of all its staff, the pool man, cleaners, restaurant staff as they ALL made us feel like we were visiting family and friends not strangers!!!!!
We came across a tuk tuk owner and driver his name "Bean", he speaks english and can suggest places to see and places not worth seeing, he is honest and with great morals!!! when we asked 'how many dollars" to this location or that, he gave a true and fair price, most of the others would ask a ridiculous amount and you would need to negotiate to reacha fair price BUT not Bean!!!! his contact details are..Ph..92 208727 and email poukpheng@yahoo.com....I highly recommend you tuk tuk with him!!!!
Tip; 1- you only need US dollars in Siem Reap as ALL restaurants, supermarkets, transport and shops all display costs in US dollars!!!!!!
