This wonderful big hotel is now looking a bit dated but you would imagine in its early days how grand it was. After a long 9 hour bus journey from Phnom Penh we were giving a friendly greeting and our room was upgraded to a pool view. We was delighted when we was shown our room it was very big and the bathroom had a generous amount of toiletries. The pool was big and clean with comfy loungers. Fortunately we did not get the opportunity to use it as much as we would have like as there were big storms and flooding in Siem Reap at the time of our stay. There is not much around the hotel you will need a tuk tuk to get in town which cost $6 return. The breakfast was also very good and I would recommend you go early as some guests could be quite inconsiderate and make it all very messy once they had filled their plates. Overall a wonderful hotel to recommend.

Stayed here last June 2013 and can only give high praises for the wonderful staff and their well-kept rooms. The bed and furnishings are really nice and comfortable. They provided complete amenities like toothbrush, comb, etc. The food at the restaurant is great although a bit pricey. We didn't get to use their pool as it was under renovation at the time but they offered to take us to another hotel with pool hassle-free. Overall, our stay was pleasant and satisfying in this hotel on my first visit to Siem Reap.

First off, the Ree Hotel has some really great staff. I did not have one bad experience during my 8-night stay at the hotel for a retreat. Everyone was friendly and spoke English and were willing to help when asked. They have a large breakfast buffet included with the room, and although it focuses heavily on Asian breakfast (probably because of the large number of Korean and Chinese tourists), they had other options like muesli, yogurt, fruit, omelet, and toast. The hotel also has a pool, but we were unable to use it during our stay, as they were doing some major renovation. But the hotel had a car shuttle to another hotel (which was much nicer) to use their pool for free.

Unfortunately, the room needs some maintenance. The room and bathroom was clean, except for the mold growing on the shower curtain (room 432, if management is reading!). The room was very large and comfortable for a week long stay.

The hot water was very inconsistent - it either ran scalding hot or lukewarm - but mostly just lukewarm - which was quite disappointing, as I was looking forward to using the bathtub. Also on the last night, as we were turning off the lights on the nightstand, we heard a "pop" and then none of the lights worked in the room. Luckily we were going to sleep anyway and leaving the next morning. And when a few large rainstorms came in, the rain came right in under the balcony door, leaving a large wet spot on the carpet that never dried out.

One other negative was how far the hotel was from Old Market and Pub Street. It's at least a $2 tuk tuk ride into town, and there aren't many restaurants nearby.

Overall, this hotel seems more suited to large tour groups than individual travelers.

My friend booked this hotel for us and I went there with no expectations. We did not arranged for pick up so we took a taxi from the airport, it cost us USD7 It was just fine coz there were 4 of us. the driver was friendly and started talking to us about what the nice places to visit. he also offered us his services. He was giving us very helpful information all throughout the journey from airport to the hotel. I was amazed when the taxi brought us to this huge hotel (well, i later on found out that other hotels were even much bigger) this is no the kind of hotel we usually book. Anyway, we were greeted with a smile from hotel crews who immediately helped us with our luggage. It was still early so we were not expecting to be allowed to checked in but again, we were welcomed with a smile at the reception and they agreed to have early check in for us. We were very thankful. The check in process took only few minutes and while waiting they served us with refreshing drinks and one of the receptionist join us at the lobby to give us an orientation of the hotel's facilities. To be honest, that was the first time, i heard of an orientation. Normally, the reception will just shortly tell u where ur room is located and how to use the key. This lady, thoroughly tell us the free hotel facilities that we can use as well as the other hotel services which are not free. She showed us our room and again give us an orientation, including the use of the key, aircon and lights. She told us of the complimentary coffee, tea and water which she said will be replenished everyday. She wished we'll have a good stay in Cambodia and she went to our friend's room next door. We planned to rest for a while before exploring the place so we had lunch at the hotel's restaurant which is just close to the pool. The buffet breakfast just finished so everyone in the restaurant was busy cleaning up, nevertheless, they welcomes us again with a smile while patiently waiting for us to make our orders which actually too some time. We cannot decide what, not because we didn't have much choices or that wasn't that good but it was a bit pricey (well, we later realized that outside restaurants would also cost us that much, even more). All throughout our stay there, all the staff have been very friendly, helpful and informative although we pester them everyday with stuff we already knew. (We were not being mean, we just want to make sure we got the right information, u know not everything in the internet is updated) The rooms were huge, with two huge single beds. Each single bed can actually accommodate two people. The room has a veranda overlooking the pool. Two bath robe were provided as well with 2 pairs of white slippers and 4 small extra pillows. With the tea, coffee and water and 3 kinds of glasses. This does not include the glasses in the toilet to be used when brushing teeth. Every afternoon, we come back in a clean room with fresh towels.By the way, we enjoyed the pool too...it was clean and the water was warm. There's a swing too, you'll love it. i almost forgot to tell you that breakfast is provided and there are many choices from light to heavy. Lastly, along with the key and breakfast voucher is another voucher that entitles you for a 40% discount on their SPA services. Check out the photos I posted:-) This hotel is highly recommended.

Room Tip: I suggest that if you know and trust anyone who can arranged trips for u for a cheaper price, go for...

Stayed here for 2 nights and 2 days. Booked the hotel through Expedia. The hotel was nice, and the staffs were friendly. Booked two hotel rooms, we had the pool view. The room was quiet but mosquitoes were all over. We had to call room service for some bug spray, but we didn't use it because we had the a/c on and it wouldn't be good. We had breakfast included in our booking. The food selection were not plenty. Normal breakfast fair, they could have done better and there flies, too. Overall experience was average.

I loved this hotel. I got a great deal on the best suite in this joint. The staff are very friendly and inviting. The rooms are extremely comfortable and clean. When I come back to Siam Reap this is for sure the only place I'm going to be staying.

Room Tip: Splurg on a nicer room
