Soapy picked us up from the airport to take us to the guest house and would not even take a tip! Then, we hired him to drive us in his tuk-tuk for 3/6 days we stayed at Happy! He was amazing and took us lots of places we had never heard of from other tourists or sites. He always had a drink ready for you on a hot day! Guest house was nice and clean, amazing room for the price. Guest house has cool evening environment if you don't feel like hitting the pub street. Beer and food are great and cheap (.75$ for an Angkor). Bicycles were only a couple dollars a day and they helped us map our way around. For six nights, most of our meals, dozens of beer and bus tickets for two to Phnom Penh, we only paid 100$. They even packed us sandwiches for the bus! Stayed in a double room with a fan and TV. Can use the pool table at the bar next door if you want!

Room Tip: Ask Soapy to take you to Angkor Wat for the sunrise tour!

Stayed a couple of nights at Happy Guesthouse and can say its been one of the best places to stay in during my southasia trip!
The staff are superfriendly (and happy) and can help you to book tours, buses and so on.
The room we stayed in was awesome, clean and fresh and the common area with the restaurant is cozy. Make sure to eat there cause they have plenty of good food!
Thank u guys for a very happy stay!

I stayed in this guesthouse several times over the past couple of years and I've always had a very good experience. The staff (namely the manager of the hotel) is very nice and the rooms - though basic - are great value for money if you want to stay in a comfortable room with hot water and fan/a/c.

Take notice, however, that the rooms do not have wi-fi, only the space in front of the hotel.

I definitely recommend it!

Room Tip: Don't get a room on the 4th floor as these do not have hot water and, given that they are on the upper floor, it gets pretty warm during the afternoon

Stayed for a few days while visiting Angkor Wat - staff were lovely, room was huge and the communal area is very cute and good atmosphere!
They provided us with our own tuk-tuk driver named Tommy (really great!) who picked us up from the bus station and took us around the temples, which was really convenient and good value.
It is a lovely walk from the hostel to the old market along the river, and there are lots of shops, restaurants and bars nearby.
Our only problem with the hostel was that we felt they were a bit pushy with their tuk-tuk tours...as soon as we were picked up (after a long bus journey) they were immediately trying to arrange to take us on a sunset tour that evening - we eventually got through to them that we didn't want to go, so instead they began arranging our trip to the temples the following day. We were slightly overwhelmed and didn't realise we were agreeing to a full-day tour - it did turn out to be a good option but we would rather have been given the chance to decide ourselves! They also told us that we wouldn't be able to cycle around the temples as they were too far apart, but we did see a lot of people on bikes so we ended up a bit disappointed that we had been put off the idea. It was a bit of a struggle to convince them that we wanted a day to ourselves - no tours, no guides!
But as I said, it did turn out to be a good option, and Tommy was really good company around the temples so we did enjoy our experience overall!
Would definitely recommend Happy as a place to stay, but make sure let them know from the beginning if you decide you don't want to do their tours!

I never thought that traveling in another country is this easy, cheap and fun thanks to Happy Guest House. They sent free tuktuk pick up from the airport and also provide tuktuk to take us around the temples. There are always tuktuk drivers at the guest house to take you where you want to go. They also provide reliable, cheap and fast transportation for us when we decided to cross the border in Poipet to Thailand.
The food is very delicious and the serving ample! You should try out their iced coffee too!
The room is basic but it is clean. I am not sure if it is the cheapest but it is very affordable and with the quality of their service you definitely get more than what you paid for. Which brings me to the primary reason why I gave Happy Guest House 5 out 5 -- the owner and staff. The owner Chhorpoan greeted us with genuine delight and was always there to make sure our stay was delightful. the receptionist Bon Sov is very funny and was so kind to find us a taxi for the price that we quoted. I also loved interacting with other staff like Koun, Sophy and Nin. It was really a wonderful place to stay in when you are in Siem Reap, so wonderful that I miss the place already.

Room Tip: Depending on the weather, a fan room would suffice other than getting an AC room. The rooms near the restaurant still get WiFi but the rooms at the rear house do not.
