Out of town and down a narrow lane keeps things quiet. Stayed 9 nights. Rooms are spacious and clean with firm beds, a/c, TV, and full bathroom with tub. Shuttle runs in the evenings. WIFI and breakfast included but we had a lot of problems with the WIFI. Two computers available for use but often slow. If internet is important to you, check to see how its running b/c they were working on it. Blue Pumpkin has free WIFI and decent cappuccinos. Hotel breakfast is okay. Laundry is $1 / 4 items – laundry is cheaper in town. Very friendly staff – will pack breakfast for early Wat visits; met us on returns with cool washcloth. English speaking staff (Leak and Sooty?) are phenomenal and get things done quickly. Check waiaway.blogspot.com for detailed info. Enjoyed our stay.

I stayed at the Kool Hotel at the beginning of December 2011 for 3 nights. The hotel is in a small quiet street and the property is beautiful. They do provide free tuk tuk to the night market area. The front desk people were friendly. The door men were also polite and helpful. I got a room on the main building 3th floor. The room is very clean with nice design and the bed is comfortable. The bathroom had a shower had a weak jet. I did not like the towel, they were thin and smell sweat. The breakfast was basic. The pool was good. The Wi-Fi was very weak in my room. The hotel is good but couple be great with some improvident.

A great affordable hotel. About a 20min walk to the town center/market area. Everyone here was super nice. Breakfast was good. Power did go out once but was restored in about 15min.

Obviously its not a five-star hotel but its five star service and hospitality. A great change if you seek a local run hotel. The owner lives in the hotel and look after the place very well. My room was modern with traditional decorations, blended very well. all things in the room worked well, very quiet air-con. Quiet swimming pool and great place to spend time after touring temples. Free breakfast was good and adequate. Lunch and dinner also nice and reasonable priced. Whats more you could what for what you pay,

this is a reasonably priced hotel on the quiet side of Siem Reap. it's a good location for relaxing, and use free shuttle to town at night or only 1-2$ by tuk tuk queue right in front of the hotel. the rooms are large. fortunately the hotel has a good side inviting swimming pool. the breakfast buffet leaves a lot to be desired.

My wife and I loved this hotel. It is just outside of town, but the hotel offers a free shuttle bus and a tuk tuk is only $2 into town. The room was lovely, food was particularly good and well priced. The swimming pool is really nice to cool off in. Added to that are the staff who were so very friendly. They would greet us on the doorstep with cold wet towels whenever we returned from a day out, and the owner was really helpful in organising trips for us. We hired the hotel car for day 1 of temple trekking; to see the further away temples, then on day 2 we hired the tuk tuk for the ones nearer by, which we thought was a good way of seeing all the most important ones. Would definitely recommend.

We recently stayed at the Kool hotel for 4 nights. From the first to the last minute of our stay it was amazing. When we arrived we were greeted with a fruit platter, juice and a cold towel. The hotel staff were the friendliest we have come across on our travels through Cambodia and Thailand and made us feel right at home. They have two gorgeous dogs that often sneak inside for the relief of the fan- we loved this as we miss out dog at home so much! The good and cocktails were well priced and delicious. The Kool hotel is only a 10 minute or 2 dollar tuk tuk from town and there is always a tuk tuk ready to take you- even at 5.30am! We will definitely go back to the Kool Hotel next time we are in Siem Reap.
