“LOVED the Kool Hotel!”
Reviewed 20 March 2010

We stayed at the Kool Hotel for four nights as part of a larger trip to South East Asia. We absolutely loved it here. The staff are wonderful - so friendly and relaxed. It has a real family feel about it. A number of tuk tuk drivers work for the hotel and can organise trips around the temples for you. The drivers are also lovely. We had Mr. Mom and he was great! This hotel was a real highlight of our trip. We would recommend it to anyone.

Really great place to stay in Siem Reap, good facilities and not too big. The staff went out of their way to help us.

We arrived at The Kool Hotel after staying in a hotel in Phnom Pen which had great reviews but was dirty and needed some work.
We were so delighted with our 4 nights at the Kool Hotel. Immaculate, great breakfast, nice quiet pool area and a comfortable bed.
But the best surprise was the service. Sothay, and the other front desk staff were always there for anything you needed with a smile When I woke up one night at 3 with swollen glands, Sothay drove us to the hospital and waited there for us until I had been attended to. (The hospital is beautiful by the way)
For touring the temples they would arrange very nice guides and tuk tuks or taxis for you. We had a tuk tuk driver who was also exceptional named Den Nys. The also have a shuttle which will take you throughout the evening to the downtown. We did eat at the restaurant in the hotlel and the food was delicious especially the Amok.
All in all The Kool Hotel more than delivered everything we could have wanted and we were thrilled with this hotel.

As many other people have said, the staff and management make this hotel what it is; we have stayed at many so called 5* hotels around the world and rarely felt as welcomed as the Kool Hotel. They are friendly and efficient. We came to Siem Reap on the bus from Phnom Penh and a hotel car and driver were waiting to pick us up at the bus station - we didn't ask for this service! We stayed 5 days and walking round temples is hard work so every day when we arrived back we were greeted with cold lemongrass-scented towels. The food in the restaurant was good. The location is not perfect but transport to the center is readily availible so isn't really a problem.
Only one minor gripe, there isn't an in-room fridge, but I kept reminding myself that we were only paying $45 a day for 2 for bed & breakfast. Excellent value for money and it was a great to stay there.

We just spent 3 nights in the hotel we actually chose by the reviews in Tripadviser. They can't make more justice to this lovely hotel. We enjoyed every minut we stayed here It felt that we'ld like to spend more time in the hotel then we võiks AS this was not the reason for coming to Siem Reap. Everything was great in this hotel- from design to cleanleness; even the away-from-downtown location turned into benefit as it was really quiet and peaceful to sleep. But the biggest impression was made by the competent and friendly staff. We booked everything through the hotel and everything worked precisely. Taking notice that this is not a luxyry but the lower end of midrange hotel it gives very good return for what you pay.

I stayed here with a friend for 3 nights, and we had a great time. The rooms are fantastic - very clean, great bathrooms with good showers, air con, and all the room lights controlled by remote. The pool is also very refreshing in the afternoon. Best of all, the management of the place is impeccable. I cannot see how they could be friendlier. Oh, and there's 3 daily shuttles to Pub/Bar street, which are very handy.

We'd seen that Central Boutique was comparable in price and reviews, so we went to check it out. From our arrival, the people at reception were not as friendly. They seemed to have made a mess of our reservation. The rooms were not nearly as impressive, and the pool was crowded. So we went back to the Kool!

I would highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is well-run and well-loved by a smart, conscientious family. The breakfasts, the rooms and the service were great . The rooms were large and clean and quiet. It's a little ways from the city center but inexpensive tuk-tuks were always waiting nearby to whisk you to where you need to go. The interior decorations were modern and nice. Nothing to complain about! It's 4-star hotel at 2-star prices.
