Our tuk tuk brought us here after we told him we wanted to stay close to the old market and pub street. It's literally across the street room the Old Market and about a block away from Pub Street. We paid $23 for a triple room. It reminded me of a log cabin- kind of dark and gloomy. Clean room but the shower leaked, the wifi was choppy, there were mosquitoes but no nets, a weird creature that kept croaking in our room, and no phones in the room. Not as many complaints about the room as there are about the staff. I asked twice to use the phone in front to phone a tour agency and they said they didn't have any credit on the land line.. which doesn't even make sense. Also the guy was texting on his cell phone when I asked. They wouldn't help us book a tour to see Angkor Wat and gave us no helpful information whatsoever. If you just want a good location with decent room quality and don't care about service , then book here. We left after the first night and booked at a hotel 10 times better (Parklane hotel) down the road- same price for the room with 4 star hotel quality everything.

we spent only one night in this guesthouse. It was quire ok - they even have bathtubs in the rooms. I had some problem with the staff. As we were going to sihanoukville the next day in the evening, we booked the room for another day to have a shower and leave the luggage. The receptionist didn't wanted to hand us the ac controller. He said that we are using too much water and energy. A little problem, but it somewhat changed our opinion.

We arrived in Siem Reap at 8:00 PM the day before the marathon at Angkor Wat and we had lots of trouble finding any where to stay. We stayed here because this was the only place our tuk tuk driver could find. He checked lots of places. We checked out early the next morning and stayed the rest of the time at the Siem Reap Central Hostel - a much better hostel. We paid $20 for the room for 3 people. This included a decent breakfast (eggs and bread). The room was dingy and dirty. The Wi Fi didn't work and the staff was not helpful.

We arrived here after our driver dropped us off! Normally it's a bit of a scam to get you to pay over the odds but it worked out well! Great sized, comfortable rooms with memory foam mattress, air-con, free WiFi, free breakfast! Book early and they will pick you up from Poipet for free! We spent $50..!! The staff are attentive and friendly too which is always nice! Helped us book our Tuk-Tuk for the day in Angkor and our bus to Phnom Penh.. Great little place to stay!! *****

I was with a friend travelling in Cambodia and it was really busy. we were looking for nice hostel but our tuk tuk driver told us every time that the hostels are fully booked. The last hotel was Ponloue. We had a couple of bad experience with this hotel. My friend dropped their laundry and we lost two clothes. They told us that we are doing that in every hostel... if we are doing that than my backpack will be empty... so no. Be aware of this people because we paid for our rooms and at the end they told us that we did't paid. They are really scary and bad. So get always a receipt.

This independent hotel like many cheapo’s is staffed by skinny 20-somethings who do everything from carry bags, sweep floors to cooking breakfast. It wasn’t too shady nor did we find any pinhole cameras in the bathroom.

Centrally located near Siem Reap’s main market & restaurant area, this is certainly backpacker quality in looks & feel. At 80,000 Cambodian Riel’s or $20USD for 3 people including a small breakfast & dial-up internet, u get what u give but ease any hip pocket pain.

This room reminded us of a ship’s cabin with the huge amount of teak used to cover the walls & floor or a colourful harem with the long coloured curtains, personally I like harems. These aren’t complaints as this was much preferable to stained concrete & greys in other cheap places. The room had plenty of space with high ceilings, aircon, hot water, pink bathroom decor with mini soaps, toothbrush & paste, 51 cm TV with satellite channels.

There looks to be a late night mini-mart a few doors down as well as some food stands that are popular with locals for selling boiled ox tongue & offal! KFC is on the same street about 15 mins walk. Plenty of tuk-tuk drivers sitting around to hire as day guides to the temples, we spoke to many & argued with all.

Be mindful that room keys are expected to be left at the reception desk so hide all the good stuff away.

Ponloue Ankor is a basic backpacker hotel in a very good location in Siem Reap. The room we got for 14 USD (1 USD discount?) was a medium sized double bed room with airconditioning and without windows.

It was a clean and ok room but the air-quality wasn't too good. The warm-water was ok but showering (over 2 min) created a flood in the bathroom. Most of the lamps didnt work and there were nasty electricity cables hanging out of the wall. The breakfast was very basic - one piece of bread and one fried egg - but still better than nothing.
