Carefully tended gardens, attention to detail, great breakfast. Helpfull staff, great location.
Relaxing tranquility after a busy dusty day.
We loved it. Wonderful pool to refresh in after a long temple track filled day.

We had a wonderful stay at the resort and had a pleasant encounter with the manager when we opted to use the smaller room instead of the family room we initially paid. The staff are very helpful and pleasant, call out for Bun or Bon (not sure how it is spelled out) as he did a good job. If only we had some more on our budget, we would've given him a higher tip. Maybe next time when we get back. There were just some mosquitos (which i think is common in the whole of Cambodia) but would be better if you have some electric traps or a lot of mosquito repellants in the rooms, especially in Rooms 109-110 (which was supposed to be our room - familly). Thank you and all the best! I highly recommend this place!

Room Tip: use rooms 102-105 on the ground floor as it usually rains and stairs will be slippery if you are on the upper floors. it's also near the pool area. if you are a family of 4 a double bed- room is large enough. their family rooms are 2 large rooms connected to each other by doors.

The first impression is the beautifully kept grounds as you first walk in. It sort of goes a little bit downhill from there. Whilst the rooms are very spacious they are pretty average and reasonably clean. The bathroom is akin to a 2star situation with a floral shower curtain and flip flops provided. We had two rooms neither of which had hot water so a lukewarm shower was the only option.

At the end of the day you get what you pay for and at $40 a night inc. breakfast it is reasonably good value. The staff were wonderful and the owner was at hand to make sure everything was running smoothly. The city centre is approx. a ten minute walk so given the heat at this time of the year, a $2 tuk tuk ride was a necessity.

We loved staying at Sonalong Boutique Village. The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. The veranda with ceiling fan was private and cool. The gardens are beautiful. The owner - Mr Hak is passionate about natural vegetation and self sufficiency. There were coconut, mangos, banana trees, palms, frangipani and many more - lemongrass and herbs. Lovely water features and hand crafted statues/ornamental. Service was excellent - friendly staff, good food.
Joy - staff member and driver - was very knowledgeable, a gentleman.
Can't recommend it highly enough.
Thanks Mr. Hak and staff!Member

The central area of Seam Reap is so over commercialised, that it was a delight to stay at this lovely boutique hotel, situated in a garden oasis, in a peaceful area of the town. Our room, on the ground floor, was spacious and well furnished. It had its own private terrace, overlooking the lush vegetation. After spending all day exploring the wonderful temple sights, it was a delight to chill off in the pool and enjoy a well prepared cocktail. Breakfast, which was included in the room rate, was a la carte with a fairly wide choice and was served quickly by the friendly staff.
We stayed here for three nights and during this time, large parts of the town were without electricity. Sonalong, like many of the hotels, had its own generator. At night you could hear them all running, although it in no way disturbed us. The staff were very helpful and although we had already booked a driver and guide, they provided us with a map and recommended several good restaurants. The map was a bad photocopy and not very good. A tuk-tuk into the centre of town took just a few minutes and cost $ 2
It is very good value and a hotel we can recommend with confidence.
