Thank you to the Sonalong staff and Mr Hak for offering a professional and personable stay. Being surrounded by the tropical fauna gave the impression of being almost alone while the tranquil pool area proved to be a peaceful space for us as a couple.
We appreciated the local insight into Cambodia history and culture and will be sure to return when next visiting SR.
Thank you Mr Hak

Thank you so much MELISA and your KIWI boy friend + your niece for staying with us and spent your valued time to talk with me every morning to get to know about Cambodian culture, especially, you are so generously to sponsor the poor kids who are unable to go to school, because of your help, they can go to school and I do hope they will have a good future.

Best regards

Sonalong is a beautiful garden oasis walking distance to the old market and pub street. I have stayed here twice now for a total of four weeks and I wouldn't stay anywhere else. I was made to feel like one of the family by the owner and staff. The beautiful bungalows are all set individually, one up one down. The rooms are very spacious, with fan, aircon, TV, good bed, sofa, fridge and great wifi. The balcony is the best, with comfortable reclining traditional chairs, overhead fan, and lovely plants. The garden is meticulously planted and lovingly looked after and I just loved being amongst it all. You feel like you are in tropical paradise. Breakfast is yummy and good range of choices. The pool area is well planned so that you are always in the shade of palms, which you need in the heat. It is very quiet and serene.

Room Tip: There are downstairs and upstairs rooms. I stayed in both but probably prefer the downstairs as the...

We stayed in the Sonalong Hotel for 4 nights while we visited Angkor Wat. The hotel is in walking distance to town, in a quiet little side street. The manager of the hotel was very friendly and helpful. He was always there to answer our questions but never, but never persisted that we buy something that he recommended. For Europeans this gives you a good and trustful feeling. The hotel rooms are set around a wonderful little garden with all different kinds of lush tropic plants. In the middle sits the pool and it was one of the best things to jump in there after a really hot day in the temples. For breakfast you sit right next to the pool and we could order everything we wanted from the menu.
The room was perfect, enough space for three people and very clean. The personal was extremely friendly and we were really sad when we had to leave. We can recommend this place to everybody who is looking for a small, quiet place in Siem Reap.

I have stayed this hotel for 3 nights with my wife as we just married. This hotel has been recommend by my friend.

The room is big, clean, very comfortable bed, especially, at night for sit outside at the balcony to drink quietly, nobody walk pass you or disturb you and around the Bungalows is full of the tropical garden and many kind of flowers, it look like we are in the small jungle.
The pool is very nice and clean after along hot day from Temple , also the bar service is good as well. For the breakfast is order and fresh.
Overall the manager and staffs are very friendly and helpful. I definitely come back and stay with this hotel again.

Room Tip: down stair and up is very comfortable the same, but up is more view than down

The hotel was situated in a neighborhood with university campus and Australian international school. You will need to walk 15 mins to the Old Quarter and pub street, or take tuk tuk for usd 2 for 2 persons. The hotel itself is bungalow style with 16-20 rooms, quite private as there is no other guest on the same floor. The balcony was quite spacious with a fan where you can do your reading. Hotel food was quite decent with reasonable price. The wifi worked quite alright during our stay. The downside was the charging capability of the socket which was almost non existent. The tv also didn't work quite well. According to the staff, they claimed it's the weak satellite coverage at fault. Also, we need to remind them to make the room.

We stayed for 4 nights 5 days in this hotel. Rooms are well maintained...very clean, especially the bathroom and bedsheets of which i'm very particular about.
They have a nice day bed by the pool with relaxing ambiance of the garden.

The staff were very pleasant and helpful (look for boon, tut and maddie).

We were a group of 7 so we got 3 bedrooms, equally clean and spacious like ours.

Our flights from manila to siam reap (vice versa) are always in the evening. Ironically, the hotel's check out time is at 2pm, since the flights to manila is at 9pm, most manila bound passengers had to roam around or go to the airport earlier, forrtunately, to our surprise, the hotel owner mr. Ha, offered us to stay in our room until 7 in the evening without extra room charge since the next hotel guest it arriving late also. This hotel serves one of the best coffee in the world, we bought loads of coffee from mr. Ha to bring back home.

Our stay in siam reap was very pleasant, people are hospitable.
For our trips, we hired a tour guide names Sun Same of which we higly recommend also.
