We booked this hotel online via ebookers and paid about £20 per night as it was a special promotion, it looked nice on the website, but then don't they all!! Whe we got there were were pleasantly surprised and if anything the staff were almost over attentive as we are not used to this level of service. We ate in the restaurant, which, for a hotel of this level was very reasonable and apart from my pork being overcooked it was very tasty and we got free spring rolls to start which was a really nice touch. We got a free upgrade to a junior suite which I would imagine is not that much bigger than a std double, but was lovely and it was also very clean, the beds are very nice if a little firm.

We hired a Tuk Tuk for 3 days to see the Temples and Mr Vuty was our driver, at $15 per day this is a bargain and he is superb. He brought with him bottles of water for us in his little cool box and even little bananas too. If you get the chance ask for Mr Vuty, lovely Guy and a very safe driver too.

Overall this hotel was fantastic value for money, not sure what it's like when it gets busy, but I would recommend anyone to stay here.

i stayed at the Smiling hotel & Spa Siem Reap for 3 days in November. Arrived off the Jet Star flight from Singapore at 7.00 am. Had no Visa but it only took 5 minutes to get one, handed over $20 and a photo. Went through immigration, pick up case and was meeted by a gentleman from the Smiling Hotel, for transfer to my hotel. Arrive at hotel around 7.40am, the hotel is approx 35 minutes from the airport, about 10 minutes from the town centre. Check into hotel, they upgraded me to their special suite on the 4th floor. The room was large, with 9 chairs, 2 couches, supersize kingsize bed, large bathroom with a jacuzi shower. The room was good, but i did ask for a room with a pool view, but this didn't happen because these rooms are not finish yet.
Went down to the pool. there is noone here, hotel is like a "ghost hotel", so decide to go into town, cost about $2 for Tuk Tuk. Came back in afternoon, i still can't see noone else here. Next morning went down for breakfast, food not too good, i saw 5 people and coach of Chinese tourists, so the hotel was very quiet.
Hotel was very cheap to stay at, but it is too far out of town. I would recommend it to a young family because the rooms are large and pool is never use.

We got a great deal on Agoda because it was low season. The hotel is nice with a pool (not much sun exposure at the pool due to the construction all around it) and a small gym.
The hotel is very far from anything in town (easy to get a tuk tuk) they don't speak English very well, the restaurant food is not very good (everything over cooked), and they don't book any tours.

Spend couple days in Cambodia in this hotel. The facilities are very tired. Bath is espesialy tired-see pics in attach. Somebody's dark hairs were everywhere in the bathroom. It was not plesant at all to take them off from the shower, walls and sink. Towels were stained- 1 of them looked like they could not wash away it, other one didnt even look like somebody tried to wash it. So we use one- fisrt one, this was of course uncomfortable.
The same was with beds. We had twin room so there were 2 beds. Sheets on one bed were like somebody walked on them in dirty boots. So we had to sleep in one bed which looked cleaner. See pictures attached.
Third thing I would mention here is that there are a lot of ants, we found them even in bed, so we had to shake well all sheets on the bed before to go sleep. When we got our home I saw that some of those ants start to go out of my lap top which I took with me in this trip. That was terrible. Breakfests are not excellent, but OK. Staff is not really smiling.
And the last things. I saw previous reviews. I disagree with most of them, they are not realy truthful, on my opinion. Perhaps this is "OK" hotel for Cambodia, but comparing to the hotels we have been before in other countries I may say this Smiling hotel is NOT a 4 stars hotel, that's for sure! This even not a 3 stars hotel.

Good price, big room and nice but the bed are very hard if you like soft bed it is not suitable for you. Cleanliness in the room is good but just a step out of the room it is very dirty. Chef are not well-trained look unhygien and when i kept phone in room the cleaner staff checked my phone the management should be revised their management. Breakfast is few nothing to eat and taste also not good. I won't come back again if nothing improve.

I'm a budget traveler and this was by far the nicest place I have ever stayed (It is listed as a 4 star" Great A/C rooms, nice dining room, pool, amenities, and friendly staff. The place was very clean and they have their own tuk tuk drivers outside waiting to take you to Angkor Wat for about $12 per day. There are some very local restaurants on either side of the hotel and I found the location to be just fine.
