“Most relaxed place in Siem Reap”
Reviewed 28 April 2013

My husband and I stayed here for 5 days in April after traveling through Vietnam and we found the perfect place to relax. The villas were spacious, comfortable and the turn down service in the evening was an added bonus. The staff were always smiling and greeted us by our names every time they saw us. We loved being just that bit further away from the main town centre and the tuk tuk trip into town was 10min max and we saw different parts of local village life along the way - loved it.
We booked the Beyond Angkor private tour through the Sojourn - best tour guide and driver we had on our entire holiday. They were both so informative and pleasant to chat with throughout the day. We took a picnic lunch with us that was very nice and even came with cold lemongrass towels to use before we ate - complete with orchid! Perfect!
My husband had a massage at the spa and would recommend their services after a day of temple sight seeing.
We would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone and hope to return one day in the not too distant future.

My friend and I are completing or 3 night stay at Sojourn and cannot say enough about how wonderful this hotel is! I have been fortunate enough to travel to over 40 countries and this hotel ranks stands out in my mind as one of my all time favs! The staff are amazing, always smiling and all take the time to get to know your name and where you are from. The location is a little ways out of town but this is not as issue as the hotel hires a tuk tuk driver who will drop you off and wait for you to drive you home. We cannot wait to come back here someday!! The breakfast is absolutely as well!

Stayed here for three nights in March with my sister and it was just lovely. I could not think of a nicer place to stay in Siem Reap because as exciting as the city is, it was so nice to get away from it all and relax in the charming villa beside the pool. The staff were always very pleasant, friendly and helpful. Rooms were spotless with the added charm of tea candles being lit in the evening and fresh little flowers put in the rooms from the beautiful gardens that surround the villas. Our driver, who brought us to the temples and into central Siem Reap was chatty and informative. The food is simply delicious and the spa treatments are an excellent way to unwind after spending the days visiting the temples. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a relaxing and refreshing experience.

We stayed here for 3 nights and were on our honeymoon. We were collected at the airport and the driver came with cold water (and beer for me!).
We had booked a 2 day tour of the temples and were happy that after these full on days we were able to relax in the hotel pool outside the noise of central Siem Reap....the location is about a 10 minute drive or 15 minute tuk tuk south of the centre in a local village. If you want to get into the centre a tuk tuk will cost you a mere $3 return.

The hotel employs only local people and they pride themselves on the service they offer. All the staff were excellent and enjoyed engaging us in conversation....they are the real stars of this hotel!

There was a good menu of about 12 hot options for breakfast along with a continental buffet and we we thoroughly enjoyed our evening meals as well opting for the local specialities.

We both had great spa treatments....an hour was $22 so really good value. If we ever return to Siem Reap we would without hesitation stay here again.

Room Tip: Spend a little extra and go for an Aspara or Temple villa.

We stayed here a few years ago with our teenage children and this time with friends, going back somewhere that you had enjoyed before I was a bit worried if the hotel was still as good. I think everything was even better, the trees had grown around the pool giving more shade which will only improve with time.
The hotels best feature is the staff when you arrive at reception, the bar or restaurant they introduce them selves and ask your name and remember them. The food at the restaurant is excellent and there are plenty of choices with specials everyday.
The owners of the hotel an Australian couple, put a lot back into the local community,we did the destination dining in a nearby village, where we were lucky enough to see the local school they are funding, they do this through a registered NGO www.huskcambodia.com . We also did the village walk and saw the things they have funded here.
They have a local travel agency beyond travel who did all of the rest of our trip around Cambodia.
This is one of the nicest and most friendly hotels I have stayed in the world and would recommend it to everyone. The massage I had was excellent.

We have stayed 1 night of our 4 and believe we have chosen the best accommodation in Siem Reap. The use of traditional furniture, locally sourced products (incl. soaps, cutlery etc) and information about sustainability in each villa, was interesting and commendable. The staff smiled and chatted frequently - their service was warm and genuine. We liked the sounds of nature day and night, birds, gheckos, and roosters from the village. Tuk Tuks take you to town in 15 mins and tour arrangements are handled smoothly. In Siem Reap we strongly recommend Cafe Indochine for lunch. We love visiting Cambodia and staying at somewhere small, away from the giant concrete hotels that line the road from the airport is just great! The discount for being an expat in Asia was also a welcome surprise! We would recommend this to couples, families or small groups.

We stayed here for 4 days at the end of our 3 week tour of Vietnam and Cambodia and are so glad we chose the Sojourn Villas.

We stayed in a Temple Villa and although relatively simple met our needs perfectly. We particularly liked the fresh flowers replaced daily, the outside shower and the outside sitting area. The grounds were beautiful and constantly maintained.

The staff were all delightful and greeted us by name whenever they saw us and were always very attentive and charming. By the time we arrived at the Sojourn we were feeling rather jaded after our travels so the advice from Fiona about how to have the best experiences from visiting the temples was particularly welcome.

All the food we ate was excellent with a strong emphasis on fresh local ingredients.

Some reviewers have not enjoyed the location away from the town but we really enjoyed this. The centre of Siem Reep was only a 10 minute ride away plus you had the advantage of experiencing rural Cambodian life by just taking a short walk outside of the gates.

Our only regret is that we had not arranged to stay longer and usually at the end if a holiday we are ready to return home. We both really could not recommend a stay at the Sojourn Villas more.
