What to say, we loved every minute of our stay from check in when they make the effort to find out your first name and call you it for the remainder of your stay to then on our last day being wished well!

Room: we had room 11 one above the reception area with terrace (as opposed to the villas) very happy with it, spacious, big bathroom, lovely animal friendly bathroom products (being vegan this was an added lovely surprise!) super clean, excellent choice of TV channels (not that you need this in amazing Cambodia) hair dryer, iron ironing board etc in room, terrace was lovely too.

Restaurant food was amazing, as a very fussy vegan they made sure I could eat from the menu and it was delicious, and also a wide array of food. They served the most amazing cocktails (Siem Reap and Long Island Iced Tea) cased a few headaches the next day!

Staff were all wonderful, polite, gracious and could not do enough, English establishments could learn a lot for the Sojourn, even the Savoy don't care for their customers as much! The variety of languages spoken by staff was amazing most speak English well, or have a good basic level, that's in-between French, Japanese, and whatever else they have made the effort to learn! We were overwhelmed by how good the staff were! Always saying 'hi Emily how was you day' they k we where you'd been even if you hadn't told them!

This company is part of the Beyond company that are an organisation that work to improve the lives of local Cambodians,I was thrilled when I found out, as I hadn't realised the importance of responsible tourism until I stayed at the Sojourn (they even sell products made by local elderly women who can't work and this then supports them with an income) truly astounding.

Where we were truly impressed, was when we booked the trip to the temples with Beyond, we had an amazing morning at the temples, then lunch came and I panicked as I'd not told them I was vegan, however the day before we'd booked a cooking class also with Beyond eps here I said I didn't want to cook meat as I was a vegan (cooking class was truly amazing also!), and they had remembered and made sure I had a vegan lunch (which was yummy!) when I was at the temples, I couldnt believe it, this really summed up for me our experience, the attention to detail and genuine care they have for customers and locals was astonishing.

Please stay here, we loved it and would go back in an instant, our best experience this half of the world by far!

Thanks again to each member of staff, you were all wonderful:

Conor & Emily

Attentive service, great food and meticulously kept grounds
We are leaving 5 stars DESPITE the fact that the hotel is located on the wrong side of Siem Reap -5km south in the small village
at the end of a 1km really bumpy dirt road.
drivers do not know where this small gem is located
as we had misfortune of learning as we did not let the
hotel know our arrivak time and nobody waited for us.

the only negative thing:
Unlike all, even the lowliest hotels in Siem Reap, Sojourn
does not provide take away breakfasts for early risers.
we took 5 am trip to Beng Mealea and were given
only water and some fruit. Our daughter, who stayed in
another hotel ate with us all meals in Sojourn was charged
for two breakfasts once 12$ and once $20.
We though it was wrong after the hotel failed to provide 2
breakfasts for us. (PREPAID after all)

Luckily I was recommended by a friend to stay at Sojourn's. She raved about the place and from the moment we arrived I could see why. The resort and villas are amazing. As well as the spa area and wonderfully priced services. However, the absolute highlight is the staff. Not only are they all friendly and outgoing, individually and as a team they provide such a high standard of service, it makes leaving very hard! I would recommend this hotel to anyone.. If you're visiting Siem Reap you'd be silly not to stay here.

Thank you to all the amazing staff for making our holiday unforgettable, we will be back!

Great guide! Wonderful driver! Very nice hotel! I’d recommend it in a heartbeat!
Hotel service was simply great. Sokheurm greeted us and explained the features of the facility. Breakfasts were quite good and we had many other meals which were all well prepared. The staff such as Ms. Narong, Ms. Dany, and Ms. Nyree are just charming. Our room, and the resort in general, is rich with character and everything was well serviced and clean.
Our objective in Siem Reap was to visit and photograph many of the temples in the region while avoiding the crowds. To facilitate this we contracted with Sojourn’s photography guide, Mr. Lim and an air conditioned auto driven by Mr. Lim Hav (a.k.a. Mr. How). We rose each morning before dawn and Mr. Lim positioned us in the ideal locations at varying temples. As we moved around and over the features he would point out particularly satisfying subjects, composition content, and on occasion orchestrate poses by monks or local citizens. Substantial historical and cultural perspective was also provided.
Consider a stop at the land mine museum which presents the problem of legacy weapons from the previous wars. Additionally there is a modest memorial to those lost to the Khmer Rouge within Siem Reap.

My wife and I were initially concerned about the fact that Sojourn was outside of the Siem Reap area but realized pretty quickly that it was great to be in the small village area that we were in. In fact, it was a good introduction to the Khmer temples as there was a small temple ruin - Wat Anthem that was within a few minutes' walk from the hotel which had no one around and was free. Also, whenever we wanted to meet up with our friends who were staying in Siem Reap, it was just a 10 minute tuk-tuk ride away, which was readily available and would stay with us during our whole trip to town.

We stayed 3 nights at the Sojourn and it was an excellent base from which to explore the Angkor temples, including going for the sunrise at Angkor Wat. Special thanks to Sokha, who was our driver the whole trip, from airport pick-up, temple visits for 3 days and back to the airport. He drove us around in a car, van and tuktuk.

As for our accommodations, they were first rate, excellent menu and food and the pool was very helpful after long walks around the temples. Their staff was very friendly - thanks Navy and Spider! Great place for families or couples...

They were also nice enough to give us a free massage each to make up for some miscommunication the night we arrived.

Room Tip: Stay in the Apsara Villa unless you'd like an outdoor shower...
