“Very nice and very good value for money”
Reviewed 7 August 2011

The hotel was very clean, cheap (about 16 dollar) and looked nice. Especially compared to some other Cambodian hotels which were often dirty. The personell of the hotel was very helpfull and friendly. Off course there is free wifi and cable television with all the movie channels. In the street near the hotel are some nice restaurant.
The hotel manager also arranged a tuk-tuk driver for us, that was a success. He is a very friendly guy who drove us around for two days. If you stay there, ask for Channa Tal, the tuk-tuk driver.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone, because of its great value for money. Enjoy!

Room Tip: Get a room at the street, it has an extra window.

This place was recommended to us by a friend. It turned out to be a good recommendation, even though another review mentioned a wall crawling with bugs at night. Well, we did not see a single bug at this hotel, encountering only a few mosquitoes which are a nuisance everywhere in Siem Reap.

The inn's price reflects its service and comfort level, not much to comment here. However, the rooms are really neat if a bit simple, and the free internet (both wi-fi and a desktop station) in the lobby are a plus. We asked them to do some laundry, and prices were extremely reasonable.

Although this guesthouse has no restaurant of its own, the inn next door (Baca Villa) owned by the same person(s) has one, and it is all-right.

All in all, a good choice for the budget-conscious.

For our first night in Siem Reap, we booked with Kazna ($US 41). Kazna was good but out of our budget. Before we checked out of Kazna, we came up with a shortlist of hotels to investigate. Across from Kazna was Angkor Deluxe Inn, being the closest one, we decided to enquire about their rate. When the receptionist showed us the room, he told us that it was $US 15 but if we stayed more than one night he could charge us $US 13. This was the cheapest rate we have ever encountered in our many months of Southeast Asian travel so far, at first glance the room looked very spacious but at the same time slightly above basic, so we thought there must be a catch. But we wanted to try it so we agreed to stay for 1 night initially (especially we could not find any online reviews about it).

On the day of our checked-in, we still could not believed that we would leave this hotel unscathed. We paranoidly checked underneath the bed, lifted the heavy mattress to inspect further, tested bathroom amenities, tested aircon, etc. Also, we made sure we extended our stay only for 2-day blocks.

We ended up staying 14 days at this hotel.

When we stayed there, we were told the hotel was approx 5 months old. We liked our stay so much that we wanted to share how much of a best value this hotel is.

LOCATION
- Located in the Taphul Village area, it is no more than 20-minute walk to the Old Market, or less than 10-minute Tuk-tuk ride (cost: $US 1). At first we found the hotel quite far and had to go to Old Market for all our meals but after exploring Taphul Village, we found a couple of favorite restaurants: Sabai, great for breakfast. Good Nah, a Filipino restaurant that serves extremely good value ($US 0.75 for rice porridge, $US 2.50 for chicken adobo). There is also a mini-mart right across the hotel and can also do cheap laundry.

PLUS POINTS
- $US 13 for a double room (with a king-size bed)
- Clean
- Very, very Spacious Room
- Facilities include: good aircon, hot shower, tv, small fridge
- Massive windows, hence the natural light coming through during the day is quite nice
- Cheap, cheap, super-cheap

We would like to mention the following points below because to some people they are important to know about. However, each of these points were Not a disadvantage to us during our entire stay:

- Free Wifi is accessible/usuable from the lobby. We stayed in the second floor and from our laptops, we could barely access the Internet. Luckily, we were able to access the Baca Villa’s wifi, located right next door.

- There is no restaurant in the hotel. In the lobby, there seems to be a dining area but in our entire stay, not once did we saw people eat there. Also, they don't display any menu.

- Old bar fridge in the room.

- Small wardrobe space. No drawers or any other storage space.

- The reception area is poorly-lit hence may seem unwelcoming but after exchanging greetings with the staff, they proved to be very helpful and polite during our stay.

I found the minor disadvantages to be as follows
- No kettle provided in the room
- Some days, the towels provided to us had a rather rough fabric
- Expensive laundry
- Some nights, we could overhear from a nearby place some Karaoke music playing. However, the music never lasted later than 9pm.

We stayed at room #201 and would highly recommend this hotel. It is a slightly above basic hotel, very clean, No-frills hotel but it is extremely good value. We just hope the hotel stays around for awhile because if we ever go back to Siem Reap, we would like to stay at this hotel again. Due to the cheap rate of our hotel room, we made a big saving on our Cambodian trip.

We left Angkor Deluxe Inn unscathed and very happy. Highly Recommended.

I stayed here with the recommendation from another hotel. The week I went was very busy and my previous hotel could not lodge me the whole 3 days, so I stayed here 1 night. Coming from the other hotel, which was the same rate and much, much better... this hotel did not compare well. The exterior looks great. The staff was over-eager to help, since it was new (6 months old). The room was very basic and average. The only thing I didn't like were the bugs! At night, the hallway and front verandas were covered in bugs. Everywhere! They left the doors open, so the hallways were filled with them. That drove me crazy. The manager was over-eager to help me and looked over my shoulder when I used the internet and made my movements feel "monitored" with many questions. (Again, just overly-helpful). This hotel is fine, if you just need a place to stay when all else is booked. There are many other hotels in same price range that I would stay at before here. The location was good, off a busy street that was convenient. If it didn't have so many bugs, I would recommend it. Basic and Average room. No restaurant or food on premises. No pool or other frills. Pretty basic.
