“River Garden Siem Reap”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 March 2014

Have visited this hotel three times and never tire of it. Situated in a quiet part of town, it is a real oasis and only a walk or bike ride from the centre of Siem Reap. The food is quite delicious, the staff helpful and very friendly and the owner's dogs quite delightful. The rooms are beautifully kept with artful decor and I can't think of any reason to stay anywhere else.

Room Tip: Rooms 1 and 2 with a balcony are wonderful.

Thanks Sally, it's great to have return guests. Glad you like the company of Honey. We have one guest who stays regularly for 6 weeks and she even requests the dogs in her room for the length of her stay!
Your comments are appreciated and hopefully we'll see you again.

As a solo traveller the River Garden was a beautiful place to arrive to after flying from the UK. Tuk tuk transfer was perfect. Eased my jet lag with wonderful food and drinks, super clean and comfy room and advice on where to go and what to see from the staff. The team here are wonderful, helpful and much fun. The hotel is aware of tourism impact on the environment and the people here and hence I chose this place to stay for a second visit. It is super safe and I would recommend it for solo travellers, couples and families. Great atmosphere and a wonderful place.

Room Tip: Room number 3 over looks the pool however is still private with a sheltered balcony to enjoy privacy...

We spent 4 nights at this lovely little hotel. It was an oasis just outside the busy town of Siem Reap and much better than staying in the larger hotels. We had a lovely room with a large verandah which looked down into the tropical garden and pool. The food was excellent and the staff were delightful and so friendly. It is conveniently placed for visiting all the temples and the staff organised a tuk tuk each day for the visits. The driver, Kym, was also a delightful man who spoke good English and gave us good advice about the temples. We would definitely recommend staying at the River Garden. The only thing to be aware of is that the pool gets busy at the weekends.

Room Tip: Spend a bit more and have an upstairs room with verandah

Thanks for the feedback. The reason the pool gets so busy on the weekends is because the expats have discovered that they can swim in the coolest pool and eat the most delicious food in town. It's a great combination.
It's easy to book a sunlounge with the staff to ensure your comfort during the heat of the day. Happy travels

First of all, I like the simple architecture that adapts to its environment surrounded by plants and trees and lots of sunlight inside the room, especially the open air bathroom. The staff were friendly enough to explain the dishes' preparation to me and my brother. Over-all it was a good place to relax after a tiring day of temple hopping all over Angkor Wat complex.

situated in between the temples of Angkor and the downtown area of Siem Reap, you have the best of both worlds and more. Downtown Siem Reap is a pretty busy area, full of the normal tourist traps. The river garden area is a nice quiet area with plenty of small restaurants and markets. The River Garden itself is a small hotel with rooms situated throughout the garden. Breakfast is not much special, but gives a good start of the day. The pool area is nice, which you'll appreciate even more after a couple of days biking around in Angkor temple area. The only downside is the lack of mosquito nets. because of the brownish decor of the room, it's hard to spot the little buggers...

Room Tip: We were in Room 9. one of the rooms on the first floors with a balcony. For us it was in a great loc...

I recently arrived back from a trip to Cambodia where we spent all of our nights in Siem Reap staying at the Rivergarden. And if I was ever going to Siem Reap again, I would definitely go back!!

The staff were very friendly and polite and the food was as good as anywhere in Siem Reap. The pool was also great after a long day out at the temples or markets and the air conditioning in the room was particularly valuable. The setting and layout of this guesthouse is also something that makes it pretty unique - we arrived and were greeted with friendly jungle-like garden with chickens and other animals roaming about. This atmosphere and setting was topped off by the rooms that were decorated in a traditional Khmer style that made it feel like the real deal.

Overall, a great place to stay for anyone looking for a comfortable, clean and relaxed environment with lovely people and great rooms!!
