Just a perfect place. welcoming, quirky, beautifully designed. food inventive and delicious cooked by locally trained Khmer -the whole place is a great training ground for locals. lovely swimming pool open to day visitors .Australian informality and Khmer charm. Blessings from Buddhist Abbot on request. Right on the river which flows out of Angkor past your door. Tours in. Tuk Tuks of street foodavailable . And --good coffee and irresistable cocktails

Room Tip: All pretty good-small, intimate Yfi of course

Lush tropical gardens, ponds with bright pink lilies, mango trees laden with fruit, and palm trees form an archway, while ducks gaggle about when you go down the pathway of the River Garden, a delightful piece of paradise. It is close enough to get to everything in the centre of Siem Reap if you are inclined to find a faster pace of action, but far enough to feel like a retreat from the hubbub.

The food is fresh and fantastic, inspired by Khmer and Western recipes, the staff is all gracious, delightful to chat with and keen to make guests happy.
My room was spacious, pristine and equipped with all the mod cons, while retaining a local flavour with beautiful objet d’art giving it an elegant feel.

The River Garden has created a personalised tour of the local markets followed by an in house cooking lesson, called Cooks in Tuktuks. Deb the owner is an artist of all things culinary and her latest venture has been to launch a café on the front terrace of the property overlooking the river which serves up delicious morsels for lovers of sweets, including salted caramel, rich chocolate tarts, coconut ice and truffles.

A lovely little sanctuary hotel that has a swimming pool that can be used by non guests as long as you order something from the menu. Fair enough too! I highly recommend the pineapple and chili margaritas!!!

Really nice place to chill out if you're hotel doesn't have a pool and you're dying in the Siem Reap heat! Very tranquil!

My husband and I recently enjoyed 3 nights at this hotel, starting with a refreshing welcome drink sitting on our patio among the lush green gardens. The staff at the hotel was very friendly and helpful. Our room and the grounds were clean and well-maintained. We enjoyed all the food we had in the restaurant, but the white chocolate-raspberry cake was AMAZING!!!

Traveled with friends but my partner and I had a room to ourselves. We were pleasantly surprised that we were upgraded - we had a lovely room on second floor, very comfy bed, large terrace. We absolutely loved the food especially the local Khmer choices, so we ate lunch in the hotel during our 3-day trip! The free breakfast is simple but well thought of. The saltwater pool was lovely, such a great place to relax in before and/or after exploring the city. The staff was so so so friendly and helpful with their recommendations too. Location is out of the "busy" area of Siem Reap - for us this was an advantage, place felt exclusive and relaxed. Getting a tuktuk though is not that difficult, there are some waiting just outside the hotel during the day. But at night, you'll either have to wait a bit until a tuktuk passes by or walk to the main road (about 10 minutes). Definitely staying here again if I return to Siem Reap!

The River Garden is a great boutique hotel. The hotel has just a few rooms spread out over the property with stone paths, lush plants, and tiny ponds. The restaurant serves an extensive menu of Khmer and Western food in the open air restaurant. The pool has plenty of chairs and sitting areas is a wonderful place to relax after a long day spent exploring. We enjoyed the Cooks in Tuk Tuks class, particularly the experience of being guided through the local market.

There are places in Siem Reap where you can stay for cheaper, and there are places where you can stay in greater luxury, but I can't imagine finding one that provides a better experience. Exploring the temples of Angkor in the Cambodian heat is exhausting, but having the River Garden and its beautiful setting to return to after each day was better than any other Siem Reap hotel experience I can envision.

We loved this hotel. It was small and personal. Great restaurant and a lovely pool surrounded by greenery. Our room was amazing (deluxe balcony) with a huge balcony where we could relax with a glass of wine.

Room Tip: We felt the balcony rooms were worth the extra money.
