12 friends and I stayed at Seven Candles for a few days and it could not have been a better way to start a week in Cambodia. A friend of mine booked the Siem Reap leg of our trip, so I didn't know anything about the mission of Seven Candles or the PLF until Ponheary herself stopped by the room after we checked in. They're doing great things and we loved to see the children getting tutored on the roof or playing in the lobby when we were coming or leaving.
The staff was unbelievably helpful in advising us on stuff to do, transportation, bike usage and pretty much anything we wanted to do. Whether it was Tuk Tuks to Angkor or the big van to Banlung at 3:00, we were always well taken care of and loved hanging out with the employees. Aong was a great and safe driver to Banlung and even helped us find the best breakfast I've had in Asia, somewhere east of the Mekong.
The facilities of Seven Candles are also great, it's nice and super clean. I don't know if my 50 something year old parents would love it, but it was perfect for 12 20 something college students.
