“A very welcoming and cozy place”
Reviewed 28 July 2014

I stayed here for 3 nights recently and I really enjoyed it. The place has a community and cozy feeling to it and the staff are quite friendly. It was great being able to use my balcony when I needed some downtime. They also provide free water (which is a plus) and free pick-up. It may seem far from everything but honestly, it is only a 10 minutes or so walk to the central downtown area. Likewise, I felt quite safe here as I was a single person travelling by myself. Lastly, it should be noted that they do not allow people to bring in prostitutes. Very family friendly :)

We stayed at the Seven Candles Guest House from 15/7 till the 18/7 2014 and this place deserves every bit of bragging. Rooms were clean, equipped with basic amenities but its striking feature were the staff of the guesthouse. They go the extra mile to make you feel at home, wanting to help you in every way they can.
In every room there are brochures about activities in siam reap as well as a very well documented recommendation on eateries in and around the area. (This came is extra handy being the foodies we were :) ). Make sure to chat up with the staff as they all have amazing stories to tell. All in all, a wonderful stay with heart warming people. Will surely come back!

We stayed at Seven Candles for 3 nights in June 2014. We appreciated the staff arranging a tuk tuk to pick us up after our bus from Phnom Penh and we also used their tuk tuk services to get out to Banteay Srei and the River of 1000 Lingas, as well as a second trip to Angkor Wat and surrounding temples on our last morning. The staff were all kind and courteous and the breakfast options included my on of my favorite dishes of the trip: the Cambodian pancake. We found the walk to town easy but it's also easy enough to take a tuk tuk if you're worn out from walking around temples. Lastly, we took advantage of the laundry service they offer, as well as the pool at the Frangipani down the block. Great place and friendly family-owners!

Had a fantastic experience at Seven Candles for 6 nights in July 2014. The rooms are simple, but clean and the common areas are nice also. We organised a 2 day Angkor tour with a guide through reception which was easy and reasonably priced. 10-15 minute walk/5 minute bike ride (bikes are free!) from town, but great value for money nevertheless.

Wonderful visit! The owners were so accommodating and friendly, and the rooms were simple but clean and comfortable. The food was also delicious! Would definitely recommend to others! Great price, too.

We left two days ago but can't stop thinking of Seven Candles Guesthouse. Seven Candles was the highlight of our trip to Cambodia. We have never stayed in guesthouses before, but we did this time because of all the great reviews.

Everything was fine. The food we had was lovely, the rooms perfect, the beds comfy and the air con as cold as you'd want it.

The thing that captures your heart though is the people. There is a family living on the guesthouse. The Ponheary Ly foundation works out of there too. They are all so humble and gentle and the kids around the guesthouse are gorgeous - they became our friends for a week.

This guesthouse was great for our Cambodian holiday but will be lovingly remembered for the human experience. We will be back!

I will start by saying I don't want to leave tonight! We have been here 6 days & have loved every second of out stay here. I have never stayed in a guesthouse before on our travels- this is definitely the 5 star guesthouse experience. Rooms are clean, roomy, bathrooms newish. But it is the people here that have made it unforgettable. We have new friends that are always smiling, ready to help in anyway & just lovely. The kids of the family that live here are beautiful & we have enjoyed every minute playing with them each afternoon.
The foundation that Ponheary has established is so worthwhile and we privileged to witness their work. Thank you Ponheary and all your family, Lori, Travis & Jacqui for welcoming us and allowing us to see first hand your wonderful work.
Would love to come back again. Highly recommend to all.
