Stayed here for a week for a conference. Conference attendees were from poor areas and worked in children's education centres. I was with a team of six Australians who were there to help them. The staff at this hotel treated us almost like we were unwelcome guests. There was no respect shown and customer service was minimal. They ran out of coffee, milk and sugar at every break. One litre of milk was apparently supposed to cater for 100 cups of coffee. The conference area was not cleaned during our time there. The manager of Dara Reang Sey hotel in PP had arranged a discount for us but this was not honoured. The food in the dining room was ok but not really up to standard and by the third day was becoming less plentiful. Anyone who didn't come in at the beginning of the lunch hour had to gather plates of food from other tables or go hungry. The hotel was hot with no aircon in hallways. Aircon in the rooms was turned off when you left the room. The shower curtain in the bathroom was moldy and very offputting. The bar fridge didn't work properly. I wouldn't bother staying here again and our next conference is likely to be in a different city. The reception area was so hot it was impossible to sit there in comfort or to use the internet computer.

Room Tip: Beds are rock hard. The service phone outside my room rang at all hours of the day and night. Aircon...

We went here for my aunt's business meeting, and were VERY unimpressed. There was dirt and small trash along almost every wall. The elevator looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a month (it was easy to see handprints against the stainless steel). We got to our room, tried to ignore the dust, but then saw the shower curtain heavily speckled with black mold. When my aunt went to talk to someone about it, she was blown off rather rudely, so she asked to speak to the manager. She showed him the curtain, he tried to blow it off, and when she pressed the issue and threatened to post a review, he blew up. He threw the curtain at her and told her if she "want(ed) clean, go to a 5-star hotel!" He came back later and apologized, but we never got a curtain back in our shower (we stayed for 5 days, mind).

The food at breakfast was decent, but repetitive. At dinner, though... well, my aunt ordered a bacon and cheese sandwich, and 45 minutes later, after another tourist complained (unsolicited) on her behalf, was brought a sandwich that didn't have cheese because they were out.

If not for the the meeting, we wouldn't have stayed. I do not recommend this hotel.

The room is big, the price is acceptable.
However, there are more than 4 times sudden electricity stoppage within 2 days!!! daytime & night time.
imagine when you are bathing, all the lights goes out suddenly.
and, when you are sleeping, the air con stops suddenly...
it is not an isolated event, more than 4 times during my stay.

Stayed in this hotel for a total of 3nights stay & it was pleasant enough. Huge room, clean & comfy bed. Location of the hotel is a bit out from the main city but it is easily accesible by "TUK TUK" = local taxi. Breakfast served is fine & I would rate my overall staying experience as pleasant & comfortable

Room Tip: Even their standard room is very spacious, therefore there will be no problem to determine which roo...

I really don't want to be negative about this hotel because it has the makings of being so much better than it currently is. The front house staff are very good at what they do and are extremely attentive if not overbearing in trying to sell you a service. That said we were in a great room that was like a small flat, unfortunately for us the hotel is having a bit of a makeover so there was drilling from 7-30 each morning together with a neighbouring cockerel didn't give us the rest we thought we were going to get. We changed rooms to another one the same size on another floor which was slightly better but it seems the hotel has a lot of Asian guests that turn up late at night and leave very early in the morning so there is a constant banging and slamming of doors all night. We paid for breakfast and this was the biggest joke of all. Breakfast is servers from 6am to 9am so we thought that to go for breakfast at 8 was an acceptable time for both us and the hotel, how wrong we were, there was nothing left to eat and when explained to the 6 waiting around doing nothing staff that there was no food their response was - so what. The restaurant was also very unclean with filthy tablecloths and plates that were left for hours without being cleaned away. The pool is being refurbished which was a little inconvenient but the manager allowed us to go to the sister hotel 200 yds up the road called the Gloria - WOW what a difference, very clean and the most attentive staff imaginable, a complete contrast to our hotel. Also if you take a tuk tuk to the pub street it is a max 3dollars not 6 as you would be led to believe by the porters in the lobby.

Room Tip: Not near a lift and as far down the corridor as possible

I travelled to Cambodia on a business trip recently. Siem Reap was also in my itinerary. The inviting company made my reservation in Dara Reang Sey Hotel. Very nice exterior, gives a heritage kind of feel. But once you are inside, it was all modern. Rooms are pretty big. I was staying in Standard room but it felt like I was staying in a deluxe room. Bed was not that comfortable (slightly hard matress). Bathroom was amazing with running hot and cold water - 24 hrs - and a standard bath tub - Pretty relaxing after a long day at work. Cant rate the room service because I usually went out to eat. Hotel is located away from the town, so its necessary to have your own vehicle if you want to go out to eat - or - you can hire tuktuk/moto parked just outside the hotel. All in all, pretty good experience and a peaceful stay away from all the madness.

we stayed in this hotel 2 months ago, it's far from the city although it's nice, you have to spend money to go to the city which 4 usd for less than 10 minutes ride, where there are many Nicer hotel close to the city, which is cheaper, and you can walk around easylly, which you don't have to go back to the hotel becoz it's night, which is, if you stay near the city, you will enjoy shopping at the night market..so check the hotel near the city...Trust me. ooops i forgot sometimes No hot water.
