“Not a bad place to stay”
Reviewed 13 January 2014

The staffs are very friendly and polite. The room is spacious. The cleaning of the room needs some improvement, but not bad. My door knob was broken. It took over an hour to find the master key and to fixed the door. I had to sit at the stair to wait. They were a little inexperience to handle this. I had to ask for compensation, then the manager offered an hour complimentary massage or a bottle of wine. They just need more time to learn. The breakfasts had good choices and dinner not too bad. The dinner rolls were very good. Overall , this is a good place to stay when you are planning to visit Angkor. Wat.

It pays to have a little perspective on the history of Cambodia when traveling there. A country invaded twice, a civil war and mass genocide in just the past four or so decades. There is little to nothing made there, everything has to be sourced and imported. Despite those obstacles, it always amazes me the level of quality and comfort that can be found in this remote location. Understanding those challenges, the Angkor Miracle is aptly named. The staff were really really wonderful, the breakfast food was great, the hotel extremely clean and comfortable. My first trip to Siem Reap was about 15 years ago and consisted of two days over land from Thailand to a town without electricity and sleeping on the floor in the room above a local bar. In only fifteen years they have been able to reach this level of comfort is truly a miracle!

We stayed over Christmas for 4 nights. Two connecting rooms.
The hotel was reasonably in line with expectations.
Rooms were comfortable, good showers, plenty of space. Only minor complaint was that the beds were a bit more than firm.
Breakfasts had a decent selection although the table clean up process was a little hit and miss. Sometimes one would have a hard time finding a clean table and other times ones' coffee and juice would vanish while on a trip to the buffet. I would recommend eating elsewhere for dinner and lunch... One can get much better value for money in town.

The obligatory Christmas Eve dinner at $50pp was frankly awful in everyway. Painful perfomances, painful efforts to get audience participation, and extremely sub par buffet. We ate and escaped as quickly as possible.

Location is a bit of a run out of the Center. If I return, I'll sacrifice on pool and grounds and look for somewhere more central.

We stay at Angkor Miracle with 2 other families, one of the family was upgraded whilst one was given a less than impressive room, even though we checked in together. I mean who does that? of cause the one with the smaller room will complain. The staffs were lost and confused at time and made the stay very less than impressive. They also missed the mark on the breakfast too. the food were cold by 9AM and the variety weren't there, the skewers we ordered poolside were cold (could be badly defrosted or not microwaved enough...)
Also there was the expansion work that started around 8AM, so no sleeping at all.
The Wifi were about dial up speed too....that's why I waited till I'm home to write this review.

Room Tip: Rooms near the back are noisy because of the Extension works.

We were 3 people with 2 rooms staying 7 nights over the New Year period. My first impression of the hotel was fantastic but eventually cracks started to appear. Our room was lovely with a pool view but the bed was as hard as a rock. Loved the cocktails and staff at the pool bar and used the services at the spa and salon which were great. Sometimes had issues with hot water, blackouts and wi-fi but this is Cambodia! If we went for breakfast a bit later like 8am the tables were all left dirty and the staff didn't seem to understand to clean and reset them for the next guests. They would half do it and disappear. I think there is a training issue. Lots of tuk tuk drivers outside to take you wherever you like and very appreciative of your custom. We especially loved Walter. Overall I rated very good because so many staff really looked after us and sometimes you have to overlook the little negatives.

Room Tip: Definitely pool view

My husband and I selected Angkor Miracle Resort and Spa based on reviews I had read. The choice was perfect. This was the third hotel we had stayed at in a month-long wedding anniversary celebration. The service was excellent. We were met by Dari the Concierge who was amazingly helpful, and then welcomed by David Vann, the marketing manager, who went out of his way to make our stay perfect. Not knowing what Cambodia was going to be like, after staying at amazing hotels like Marina Bay Sands and Rasa Sayang, we were pleasantly surprised by the 5-star level of hospitality. Every member of staff we met had a smile for us. Breakfast and dinner at this hotel were excellent, with many choices. I cannot compliment enough on the service in all areas, from restaurant to concierge to hairdessing and spa. The concierge booked a car for us and a tour guide to visit the temples for a day, it was the best decision we had made. Cold towels each time we returned to the car, and bottled water, after a hot hike through the temples. David also suggested we visit the floating village by tuk-tuk - that was another great suggestion, as we saw how the villagers and ophans lived on the lake. The poverty was an eye-opener, and we donated a big bag of rice to the ophans, which we recommend to everyone to do, as they have so little. The following day was Christmas Eve and there was a great party with very nice food. The only problem I had was wearing my high heels and getting all dressed up, because the party was held in the garden it was very difficult to move around with my heels sinking into the ground with each step! Better to have had it on concrete or tiled area beside the pool, I think. We thought it was expensive at US$50/head - at that price we would have preferred being served at tables by waiters, than having to line up for food at the buffet; but what the heck, it was Christmas! We had an excellent massage, then felt so good we booked another 2 massage sessions. We were given discounts which made the experience even better. We had our hair cut at the salon which was also very good - we had such a fabulous time, we plan to return. Oh, the room we had was lovely, marble tiled bathroom, nice clean towels and bedroom, with a nice view of the pool. Thank you David, and all the staff who made our anniversary extra-special. See you again soon.

Room Tip: view of the pool

We stayed at the Angkor Miracle Resort and Spa over Christmas with a voucher which we purchased through Getaway Lounge.

Some of the pros of the resort were:

- Reservation process was painless
- Room was clean and comfortable and the decor was nice
- Staff were friendly and tried their best to be helpful
- Food given the area was pretty good - nice selection of room service items

There were a few areas of improvement however, which would have made the stay even more pleasant:
- Some of the items on our voucher (such as the limousine transfer) were forgotten
- There were a few issues booking tours and receiving confirmations from the Concierge. Also some of the tours were late and as there was no formal booking system, it was difficult for the staff to trace back the bookings
- The shop was far too expensive for the area. One summer dress on display was $120. Considering you could go down to the local market and pay $10-$15 for something similar - it was much too expensive
- The spa treatments were too expensive and the hour and a half massage would have been more pleasant if there were music or if the staff members didn't talk to each other the whole time

Overall the stay was lovely and would recommend this hotel

Room Tip: Ensure you choose a room that overlooks the pool. Rooms on the other side have a view of the buildin...
