“Lovely resort - poor tour desk”
Reviewed 1 June 2014 via mobile

I originally booked four nights with this property but amended the booking to five with an additional night at the beginning of our stay. I emailed the resort with the flight details and asked for confirmation as the room rate included airport transfers. I received confirmation by email of the same.

We arrived into SR from Bangkok at 9pm - waited until 9:30pm before we gave up and paid for a taxi to the resort. No apology - just staff saying that I shouldn't have arrived until the following day. It wasn't until I produced both the booking and email confirmation and forwarded both to the reception desk that they would proceed with our check in. By now it was getting late and my children were understandably tired & irritable!

We stayed in room 357 which over looks the pool. The room was large and comfortable. Beds were good. Bathroom was large and contained a bath which was nice. We were only supplied with two towels despite a booking for three but this is a regular occurrence - I don't know why!! Called down to reception and additional towel was delivered within twenty minutes.

Breakfast is good. Egg & waffle station was in high demand during our stay. The kids loved the pool which was large and had a number of different areas for them. There were a good number of sun lounges and some further back into the garden which provided relief from the heat. Prices from the poolside bar were good and the cocktails tasty.

I asked the tour desk for prices and recommendations on private tours for the temples but they referred me to a bicycle company and recommended we ride to the temples. All well & good but temperatures were in the high 30s with humidity and I'm travelling with kids!! Not overly helpful!

This place is amazing. We stayed here for 10 nights and loved every minute of it. The rooms were great (although the hot water was a bit hit and miss), the pool relaxing and the overall service from all staff was outstanding. The Breakfast staff made you feel like you were the only ones there and the range of food unbelieveable. Make sure you arrange for a private driver for around $30 dollars a day it is more than worth it you get to see so much more and you are not limited to where a bus will take you. The local drivers are also a wealth of knowledge for simple things like where the best laundry is etc. The hotel has a free shuttle to Pub Street every day at 9am, 11am, 7pm and 9pm and a Tuk Tuk back to the hotel will only set you back $4. We brought books, pencils, sharpeners, balls, skipping ropes and visited a local Orphanage called "The Spitler School" well worth it - they are amazing kids. Restaurants to visit include the Red Panio and Charlies. There are lots more in and around Pub Street and we tried to eat at different places each time - they were all good. Make sure you do a quad bike ride but don't forget to take some lollies for the kids. You will travel through villages and the kids come out and wave and high five - throw them some lollies and they love it. Love this place and we will be returning to Angkor Miracle Resort and Spa :)

Room Tip: Ground floor around the pool was great

We arrived past ten in the evening to a steaming hot airport and the hotel forgot to pick us up. Convincing a driver from the hotel to pack us in his van when he was picking up others was another matter. But they didnt know so i shall forgive them.
Arriving in the hotel, it took some time to clear matters up as a proper turnover of booking was not done. Hence, the purpose of the computer or the log book. It's just pretty unnerving to come to a country in the middle of the night, to a hotel that forgets a booking and a front desk supervisor that obviously tries to swing his way out of the responsibility. Boy, i will not forget you. However, management made up for this by admitting to fault the next morning and moving us to a better suite albeit lacking in some luxuries. Mind you, some of them are quite pretty nice. They have to just learn the creative adjustments needed in hotel faux pas. Exactly, its a holiday weekend so expect a lot of visitors. Please do not make the staff also go on vacation. The initial salvo was bad but we have recovered.
The hotel has even some of the coziest, clean facilities, even a big pool to boot. The staff was very friendly. The restaurant needs some experience though, zillions are coming in because of its proximity to the temples. Some expertise and variety would be appreciated.

Room Tip: Mr B, a kindly tuktuk driver parked up front can take you anywhere

Reading other reviews I can see the hotel offers really good packages. We took a 5 day one that made the value exceptional. It included pick up from the airport and a friendly welcome at reception. The lobby makes you feel you are in a 5 star hotel. The staff are very friendly. On the other hand the hotel falls short of 5 star status for the following reasons. It is too far out of Siem Reap. The rooms are spacious and clean but we could clearly hear people next door coughing and using their bathroom . This should not happen in a 5 star hotel. There were also renovations taking place. Work started around 6 am and woke us most mornings. The Television was small and at least 10 years old. The cleaners did a good job but for 2 days they did not leave new soap or shampoo. The breakfast was average. For example the juices were all watered down and there wasn't much fresh fruit to select form. We had two dinners in the hotel and my verdict is try something elsewhere. Prices are high and quality average. We had a corked wine which was hard to explain because no one knew about wine.
Here is an interesting one. If you make a purchase from the coffee shop a cashier has to be called to process the payment. This usually took more than 5 minutes. Ridiculous. Every part of the hotel should be able to process payments. The spa was cheap and reasonably good. I found getting information from the concierge about places to see and eat outside the hotel to be quite difficult. So this a hotel that offers good value but falls short of 5 star.

This was right off the main road to the airport. Decided to stay here on my last night in Siem Reap since it was close to the airport, I wanted a clean place to stay and I had an early flight in the morning. Worked out in my benefit for sure. I'd rate it 4.5 stars if I could.

Pros:
- Very nice hotel, rooms and pool
- Close to the airport
- Free foot massage
- Awesome buffet breakfast
- Friendly staff that stayed open a little later to accommodate me at the spa

Cons:
- Only half the staff were friendly
- Not that close to downtown

Please read all of the review for the full picture.

We travelled on an organised tour, and found that all couples had been put in twin rooms. We were the only ones to complain (perhaps I was being unreasonable in expecting a double room when a double room was booked). I was greeted with "but we have upgraded you from a double to a twin, what is your problem". Despite the hotel being less than busy, we were told there was only one spare double room. We were transferred, and the double room was just as good as the single room to which we had been "upgraded"' but the attitude was still one of disbelief that we did not prefer the twin. (The twins were single beds, and I was left with the impression that most rooms In the hotel are twins).

Service after that went to the other extreme. Staff seemed to loiter close to us and float around with nothing to do other than ask us if there was anything they could do for us. At breakfast it was impossible to sit down without at least five staff greeting you and asking if they could help. Unfortunately, if you asked for anything, they forgot as soon as they fawned over the next guest they saw.

However, after the poor start with the room and the annoying but poor service, I could not fault the place.

The room was of a decent size. Our original room had been recently refurbished and had views over the pool. Our second room was on the ground floor opening out onto the pool. Whilst it was not as newly decorated as the original room, it was still a some way off needing redoing. We had a patio area with a swing. The bathroom had a separate walk in shower (big plus), and was clean and modern.

The pool was excellent. Large, plenty of sun beds, poolside bar, towels readily available, several levels and depths on the pool. It is salt water, but it is very low level salt, and had I not read about it in the hotel information, I would not have noticed it was salt water. There is a large and impressive reception area, and a very comfortable and pleasant bar. Breakfast was served in a light and airy dining room, with an option to sit on a terrace overlooking the pool. Breakfast was noting to write home about, but my experience in this part of the world suggests that that is a fairly common feature, so I make no criticism of it.

The hotel is located on the main airport road a few miles out of town, alongside most of the other better class hotels. It is a ten minute $3 tuk tuk ride into town for the many restaurants, bars and markets, and about the same from Angkor Wat complex.

This hotel would be a good 4* in Europe or North America, and is comfortable, clean, well located and with good public areas and pool. The service is superficial, and there is a good chance you will get a twin rather than double, but the good points far outweigh the bad, and despite the issues, I would stay here again.

Room Tip: Most rooms appear to be twins, so if you want a double, stress that on booking

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights Has a relaxing and comfortable stay. All Staff were very attentive and helpful. Particularly those in front desk and concierge has been very helpful, they welcomed us very warmly, They helped us planning our day tours and answered every questions we had.
Breakfast is good. there were a a lot of variety, these of the food was a bit different. The staff in the restaurant specially those in night shift were professional, polite and extremely friendly.
Room is so perfect!!its so big and very clean. The bed is one of the most comfortable bed I have ever slept. You would want to stay on bed all day. the pool is huge and warm perfect for a relaxing afternoon after visiting the temples.

Message centre is very good and provided professional and friendly service.
the location is convenient. Hotel provided free car transport to the city (one way). There were tuctucs waiting outside the hotel.
If someday where going back to siem reap we will certainly stay again at this hotel!
